Climate change rallies are call to action policy-makers should heed

More than 300,000 people rallied in Manhattan Sunday, calling on world leaders to act on climate change — the largest climate change rally in history, according to reports. And while New York's rally was the largest in the People's Climate March event, rallies also took place in London, Paris, Berlin, Melbourne and more than 2,000 other locations around the globe, according to the BBC. And hundreds more showed up Monday in New York and marched to Wall Street to protest the role they say investments play in financing practices that cause climate change, The New York Times reported.

The rallies were in anticipation of a United Nations summit Tuesday that will feature 120 world leaders, including President Barack Obama, who are expected to pledge their commitment to curb rising greenhouse gas emissions. The summit was designed by U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to kick off the final stages of formal diplomatic efforts to forge a meaningful new global climate pact in Paris in December 2015.

All this activity seeks to create an urgency around climate change that has been missing until now. The people in the streets Sunday and Monday recognize that need far better than policy-makers have.

Just another attempted power grab by the global elites.

I told my wife last night; we're a carbon based life form, absolutely everything we do creates or uses carbon. The push to tax carbon is really a push to tax life.

There is NO, I repeat NO, causal relationship between CO2 and climate change, or global warming, or global cooling, or more hurricanes, or more floods or any of the other predicted calamities that have failed to materialize.

Just like healthcare, its an excuse to grab power over us.

Climate change rallies are call to action policy-makers should heed.....The people in the streets Sunday and Monday recognize that need far better than policy-makers have.

Yet - when just as many, if not more conservatives march on Washington to demand changes in our government, somehow I doubt this paper uses the same thought process to suggest that the people in the streets are a call to action and that those people in the street recognize that need far better than policy makers.

I hate our media

In the meantime Whalid Shoebat claims ISIS has issued a manifesto to kill as many as 10 million Americans and nary a peep out of the American media.
So lets see...when and if global warming causes Tampa Bay to rise up and i have years to flee being drowned or a decision of a split second to decide to defend myself against beheading that I wont even see coming because the threat is being ignored which to do...oh my!

More like 14 World of Warcraft gamers crowded around a camera so that it looked like they had a large number.

If you look at a picture of the “crowd” I bet you see the same person photoshopped a hundred times.

I guess Skippy’s carbon footprint planted last night was not a factor in the Climate Change debacle. Al Gore continues to play this card even though it has been debunked.
This issue has only returned as of late to become a voting issue for Nov and to try to paint the GOP and conservatives in a bad light!
