Nest door in Jefferson County, teachers are playing sick-out because the “nearly proficient” 7% aren’t getting raises.

...oh...and they’re upset that we object to their revisionist history in the text books and insist they get back to basics.

They just say it is Denver. Actually, it is Lake Woebegone West, where all the teachers performance reviews are above average.

Why on earth is anyone even surprised by this?

Unions are destructive. Liberal legislators are prostitutes.

In combination, they are corruption incarnate.

Nearly a decade ago, voters approved a $25 million annual property tax increase for Denver Public Schools to fund performance and retention pay for teachers who help students learn.

Idiots. Chumps. The people who voted for this deserve to be fleeced. Unfortunately the people who voted against it get stuck with it too.

I’m shocked it’s only 90%.

We have had several tax increases at the district and state level for the schools and it is never enough. And they pretend that the previous year’s increase never happened — always doom and gloom if we don’t pass the ballot issue.

Also, teachers had a “sick out” last Friday because of the new, more conservative, school board who are trying to get things under control.

Teachers were complaining about the >possibility< of a more traditional presentation of American History and maybe the cap on salaries at $85K. I think that it was more a show of force and power than anything.

Anyway, we weren’t very happy that my son lost a day of school. My son was happy, though.
