New York (AFP) - US corn and soybean crops could break records this year, but for farmers the bounty has a dark side: falling prices and a logistics nightmare getting crops to market.

"It is not an exact science but when we look at the fields, it looks like it is going to be a big crop," said John Reifsteck, a corn and soybean farmer in Champaign, Illinois, a Midwest farm belt state.

Many years ago, I was wandering through the woods in Virginia and found an old dismantled still setup. There was an old canvas tent nearby.....no dead bodies...

I surmised it was an old bootlegging operation. I must have been insane wandering around like that....alone besides.

My friend owns a truck brokerage company and they can’t find enough trucks to service the loads they have.

It's always something.

Cattle can’t eat more grain.

They will EAT WHAT IS ON THEIR PLATE or they are GOING TO BED without supper. I have had it up to HERE with their backtalk and insolence. I swear, if their fathers were alive, they wouldn't sass me like this. And! To top it off! I got a call -- AT WORK -- from their teacher. They are sitting in the back of the class throwing stuff and passing notes!

I used to spend a couple weeks every years 'wandering around' in the jungles in the Yucutan. I was in a area so remote once that I ran into an active archaeological site that was completely vacant of people but all the tents, supplies, electronic equipment and etc were just left there in the open (on tables under the big tent) while they went on Xmas vacation.

I left them a 'Gilroy Was Here' note.

Russia is now a grain exporter, not so much an importer.

Don’t most farmers sell their crop in advance on the CME futures board as a hedge against things like this that they can not control. If they have already sold in advance, what does it matter if the current price is lower?

The biggest trucking company Swift is selling equipment because they can't find drivers.

If they have already sold in advance,

Isn't part of the problem created by a lack of delivery? This might push them into default of that contract.

LOL! If cattle were fed as much grain as some people think they wouldn’t have ANY beef to eat. All the cattle would have died from digestive failure long before going to slaughter.

The train yards are backed up, too. Not enough truckers either(think a 60 year old woman could learn to drive a truck?), and so, what’s the plan?
