Discarding your own base, then whining about “no support”, SHOULD be cause for introspection.

Karl Rove is not that insightful. He's in complete denial about what he has done and until he, and people like him, are completely removed from the political landscape and out of power, the trend away from "establishment candidates" will continue.

People like him will cause the death of the GOP.

You keep voting for Rinos and they'll keep offering them up.

Btw, it was posted on FR that both McCain and Romney could prove vote fraud and chose to overlook it. What'd we lose but spineless liberals. They're Dems with an "R" behind their name.

Always was. Some folks just couldn’t see it.

There is a very good chance Bush would have been a much better president without this sage at his shoulder.

If the GOPe fields a RINO, skip that ballot spot

If you’re talking about the GOPe and RNC leadership, that terminology could be right.

For the Republican rank and file, I think you’ve got it just right.

Let the GOPe stew. They actually moved farther left during a year they were looking at a huge swing. Might not even get as many pick-ups they thought they would.

Idiots.

blaming those who “stayed home” is stupid and retarded. The GOP nominated a loser and he lost.

The GOP should never have thought a Northeast Liberal was going to win as their candidate

The Romney Campaign from the start dissed the Tea Party base. They were left out of the convention. The feeling was returned. It's hard to win without your base, morons.

Chris Christy was Romney's keystone speaker who spoke mostly about himself then a couple weeks before the election had a public bromance with Barack Obama on the New Jersey shore.

RINOs even stab one another in the back.

The GOP ought to have its license as a political party revoked due to incompetence.

Democrats will by putting up the candidates they need to win in certain states. They hold their nose and vote for them knowing owning the House or Senate majority is most important. We must do the same. Then it is simply a matter of getting the right people in leadership positions over time to carry the agenda.

This strategy is a proven failure. Republicans put forth mediocre candidates, or candidates that seem to be more Democrat than they are Republican. Take John McCain for instance. These same morons, also go after their Republican competition with a vengeance. But when it comes time campaign against the Democrat, it is more pathetic than two four-year olds pillow fighting.

Time and time again, the Republican Party cries that if people don't rally around the nominated Republican, the world will end. Guess what, it hasn't ended yet. And when we do hold our nose and pull that lever, hoping for the best, we get stabbed in the backed, ridiculed by our own party, see conservative concepts and belief minimized and just taken for a pack of fools.

Sometimes the doctor has to amputate a limb to save a patient. Conservatives are tired of rolling over and voting for a RINO. What's the point. If they can't get the message, or just choose not to read the tea leaves, then maybe it really is time for a third party.

Rove is the worst, but it didn’t start with Rove. Republicans didn’t learn from 1992 after “Read My Lips” Bush raised taxes and cheerfully approved new regulations and spending. Later, Gingrich’s “Contract with America” came to nothing, and now he pimps global warming with Pelosi. Junior Bush and the Rove/DeLay “permanent Republican majority” strategy undid the only accomplishment of the Gingrich Contract, welfare reform, and ushered in the largest expansion of the welfare state since LBJ.

The Bush-Rove-Abramoff wing of the GOP is not conservative. It has always modified its brand of “conservativism” with modifiers like “kinder and gentler” and “compassionate”. When the Bush-Rove-Abramoff types aren’t calling conservatives racists, these GOPe types use other modifiers to describe conservatives: “extra-chromosome” and “looney bird”.

I am not going to vote for people who insult me. I really don’t care if some party loyalist says that not voting or voting for a 3rd party is a waste.

Later, Gingrich’s “Contract with America” came to nothing

Excuse me?!

The Contract with America: Implementing New Ideas in the U.S. - The Heritage Foundation

Never before had so detailed a document become such an integral part of a congressional election campaign; never had so many innovative ideas been drafted into legislation so quickly; and never in the previous six decades had so much legislation been passed by the House of Representatives in less than 100 days after the newly elected Members of Congress took office. As the chief political columnist for The New York Times, R. W. Apple, wrote in a front page news analysis: "Perhaps not since the start of the New Deal [in 1932], to which many of the programs now under attack can trace their origins, has Congress moved with such speed on so many fronts."

Karl Rove is a talented statistician, but he can’t see the forest from the individual trees.

If you consider having four more years of an incompetent Obama better than a Romney then I have to question your definition of retarded.

Romney is a northeast liberal. Romney supports abortion, homosexual marriage, socialized medicine.............how is that different than Obama. Seriously? LOL

Maybe you'd like a Republican forum better than Conservative Free Republic.

There are some great in-depth posts on this thread. If the Gop(e) were smart they would read, and learn something from it. But, nobody has ever accused the "Stupid Party" of being smart.

" Rino" = Democrat in disguise.

But don’t forget, the spineless wimps in Congress who cannot oppose Obama except in useless pointless futile gestures that they KNOW to be pointless would somehow MIRACULOUSLY “hold Romney’s feet to the fire”.

As for voting for RINOs no matter what, it is “abused wife syndrome”.
A serial batterer tells his victim he will kill them.
The RNC/Karl Rove told conservatives “We will destroy you”.
The serial batterer finds he needs his victim around, pleads for them to stay “honey, I’ve changed.”
The RNC/Karl Rove finds they need conservative votes, claims to be all for us.
Yeah, right.

Like I said, they’ll come to us with hat in hand around election time, then tell us to pee up a rope in a heavy wind after the election is over.
Happens EVERY time.
