The risk of dying from a gunshot wound is twice as high for African Americans as it is for white Americans, according to a new study based on 11 years’ worth of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Between 2000 and 2010, the rate of firearm-related fatalities in the U.S. was 9.05 per 100,000 people for whites and 18.51 per 100,000 people for blacks. When factoring in the 3.38 deaths per 100,000 people of other races, the country’s overall gun-related death rate was 10.21 per 100,000 Americans, researchers reported Thursday in the journal BMJ Open.
That racial discrepancy represents an improvement from the 1990s, the researchers noted: In 1993, gun fatalities were three times more common among blacks compared to whites.
Over the 11 years of the study, at least 335,609 Americans were killed by guns. (The CDC data almost certainly understates the true toll of gun violence, the researchers wrote.) These deaths include murders, suicides and accidental shootings.

Intentionally deceptive. Hispanics are not separated out; they are lumped in with the white stats. Comparing blacks with non-hispanic whites would yield a ratio of about 7:1 for gun deaths.
Therefore, we must convict Darren Wilson of something.
Black people’s violence towards each other is more than twice the rate of white peoples violence towards each other. Either that, or guns are racist against black people. And I didn’t even know guns had a consciousness.
Therefore, under the logic of diversity, white people are at fault. Never mind who's by far and away responsible for the gun violence killing black people, which would be black people themselves. The disparate impact proves racism, or so it goes. More white people need to be shot in order to make the statistics all nice and pretty for the bean-counters who deem themselves in charge of such matters. Or, guns need to be taken away from black people in order to change the problematic statistic. But, that would be a disparate impact in and of itself, it would be... racist! So, around and around it goes, back to more white people needing to be shot. The statistic reigns supreme.
If they, blacks, would just stop shooting each other the problem would go away.

Blacks kills Blacks. And Whites. And Asians. And Latinos.

There is no such thing as “gun violence”. Guns are tools. They have no means of thought or actions. There is PEOPLE violence in which the people use a gun to bring about their violence. In addition the nature of more blacks being targeted by violent people using guns is due to the majority of those people being black themselves.
