Along about 2000 went on the USS Enterprise (CVN65) for a ‘day cruise’ and the most significant thing I noticed about her was - even though she was built in ‘my era’ - that the ladders were steeper and the passageways narrower.

Amazing how something that big can have ‘shrinkage’.

Must be from the time it spends in the water????

Of course, fabric shrinks all the time. What really puzzles me is how my neoprene wetsuit keeps shrinking.
