I don’t quite understand the relationship, considering some folks said Scotland would remain a part of the crown anyway.

As much as I want people to be independent, these days large associations of people make for better defense.

Great Britain is stronger with a large population base.

We are stronger with 50 states than we are if we break off into one.

I am glad Scotland voted no. I do respect their right to have vote the opposite way, but these times call for pragmatism in some instances. There are rough times ahead.

Oh come you you conspiracy nut! :^)

You mean it wasn’t an up and up election called between the people of Crimea and the government of Ukraine? I can’t believe that...

Of course you’re right on target. We just saw the reaction they would have received given to some BBC reporters in the last day or so.

Does anyone really think the vote counters would have allowed any other result?

“As much as I want people to be independent, these days large associations of people make for better defense.”

That’s what NATO exists for, or at least used to

“Great Britain is stronger with a large population base.”

Debatable, Had Scotland voted yes, the UK would only have lost a few million. And if more people equals more power, then why aren’t we all speaking Chinese and Hindi?

“We are stronger with 50 states than we are if we break off into one.”

Really? So we are better off with the poor, Socialist, welfare-abusing states? Strong states like mine are paying for the problems of those douchebags! The US has a combined debt (state spending, unfunded liabilities, etc.) of over 100 Trillion! All things considered, Texas would be better off on its own.

They had their chance, and they blew it. They chose money from London over independence. Women and the Elderly made the difference in the vote, the people most likely to look to government as a provider.

Look, you can discount what I have said if you like.

If you think Texas could muster the same armed forces our whole nation could, I think you’re wrong.

If the nation breaks up, we essentially withdraw from being a global power on the scale we have been.

Even Liberal states add something to the mix.

I’ve said this to others. We need to recapture lost territory. We shouldn’t simply gift it to the Left.

Ronald Reagan appealed to Democrats and some voted for him. You might be surprised how fast things can turn around when we fight for it.

There can be no arguing with that vote. Salmond chose the day, Salmond chose the wording, Salmond gave the vote to 16 year olds, Salmond decided who could and who could not vote. He played the game with his own deck of marked cards and lost decisively.

Advance Britannia!

The other day on FOX, Stuart Varney reported it would not be good for Scotland to be independent.
If they did become independent, it would not be good for the U.S.A. either.

Until 2 years ago, I did not know about a Scottish cousin residing in Glasgow, Scotland, the UK. (!!!)
Our grandparents were brother and sister.
He, his wife, and young son came to Calif. earlier this summer for a short visit. It was great!
They did NOT want Scotland to become independent.

I can imagine they are joyful. We’ve sent congratulations.
Hope to hear from them soon.

One of the best things about this campaign; the BBC has lost the trust of huge swaithes of Scotland.
