No one in Scotland can claim the result wasn’t free and fair.

It was an unequivocal repudiation of independence by a decisive margin. That closes the door on the issue for a long time.

My understanding is that only a small portion of the vote has been counted yet.

I do envy their vote turn-out.

Only about 30% of the population of the American colonies wanted independence.
