Joint Chiefs Chairman: Campaign Against ISIS “Going To Take Several Years”

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey said the United States has three big risks in combating ISIS, and that the campaign will take “several years” to complete. Speaking at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing Tuesday, Dempsey, who earlier mentioned sending ground troops to Iraq could be a possibility if the president’s campaign to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fails, said a major risk in combating ISIS would be a coalition falling apart over time. “The three big risks that I would mention to you are: if the government of Iraq fails to become inclusive, and though the signs are promising they haven’t yet fully delivered,” Dempsey said.

Well, if you make an assessment of the state of our nation in 2008 and take an accounting of all that has transpired since the current administration took the reins of government and the extent in which we have fallen off the peak, and continue to fall down the seemingly bottomless abyss at an ever increasing, exponential rate, with not only no end in sight, 'end' meaning things stop getting worse, but actually the circumstances spinning further and further out of control, the fact that the campaign against ISIS is going to take several years, has absolutely, totally lost any meaning, reminiscent of Shakespeare's Love Sonnet VI, 1 Corinthians 15:55, 'Oh death where is thy sting? I'm afraid your statement is way off base, your analogy is emphatically asymmetrical. World War 2 was fought by people, the leaders of our country, and those who spearheaded the war were as jingoistic, patriotic, dedicated, loyal to this country as anything imaginable. Whereas, in this situation, the very leader of this country is anything but. He is a die-hard member of the Muslim Brotherhood, who has been quoted to say that he will stand with the Muslims. He recently said ISIS is not Muslim, because any religion does not advocate killing others. He has single-handily made ISIS for what it is and will continue to make sure that it grows and becomes more powerful with every passing day.

I'm curious to hear more of your profound insight, wisdom and the eloquence in which you expressed your dumbfoundingly ignorant, assine flatulent utterances.

I suspect as a retired Naval Intelligence Officer and retired DIA case officer in Counter-terrorism, Humint Detachment, Operations Diectorate—not a desk jockey, with eight years on the ground out in the hinterlands all over Afghanistan, I might be somewhat less flatulent than you accuse me of being.
