Top U.S. homeland security officials said Wednesday that the Islamic State is an imminent terror concern for this country, but they remain intently focused on an array of deadly threats, especially Americans becoming indoctrinated on the Internet and executing a “limited, self-directed attack.”
“It’s no longer necessary to actually meet someone from Al Qaeda,” FBI Director James Comey said on Capitol Hill. “Someone can actually do it in their pajamas in their basement.”
Comey said he expects that such Internet activity will “dominate” his tenure at the agency.
He made his remarks during a House Committee on Homeland Security hearing on global threats to America and the government’s response.
Comey was joined by Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Matthew Olsen, director of the National Counterterrorism Center.
Officials pointed out that Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, accused of being the Boston Marathon bombers, and Fort Hood shooter Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan were at least in part radicalized on the Internet.
However, each also said the U.S. intelligence community has no knowledge of a specific or immediate Islamic State terror plot on American soil.

The media is greasing the skids for public acceptance of martial law.
“Someone can actually do it in their pajamas in their basement.” …Bad sign when double entendres enter Comey’s discourse when things are supposed to be serious.
“pajamas in the basement” = right-wingers
He is saying “anyone who disagrees with the government is more of a threat than someone who would kill those same silly innocent free thinking Americans and their families”.
At least this statement proves the government still fears the American people more than a foreign incompatible evil cult that would gladly kill us all if given the chance.
Which proves the American government cares only for itself, and not the public.
Which leads to even more disturbing conclusions and questions. Also one obvious truth and goal that every American should strive for.

I don’t know. I read an article yesterday about several ditzy white (that is, non-ethnic Muslim) women in Colorado who had converted to Islam recently and were on their way to the ME to “do jihad” when they were apprehended. Must be something in the water.
That said, yes, a lot of these people they call “homegrown” are actually simply immigrants who are living here on their (expired) visas and are not really what one thinks of as “homegrown.”
Though I’m sure they are more geared toward the Christians/gun-owners/middle-Americans; the ‘converts’ (IF the Fed. cared about protecting We and doing its job) would be easy enough to track...and keep out after they’ve left.
But we’ve seen too many examples of where keeping the power, they’ve taken from a once Free people, instead....open Southern border, NSA internal..not external, Boston bombers, non-profiling TSA, etc. And, what We should be bringing up in this upcoming election, brought to us by a (R) majority in D.C.
“Homegrown” means residents/citizens in the penal system.
Right-wingers will become known as 3 steppers.
Three steps are required. Go to the nearest mosque, identify the imam and you’ll have your primary target that must be eliminated if we are to maintain our national freedom.
