Vice President Biden acknowledged using a "poor choice of words" after referring to bankers that exploit U.S. troops as "Shylocks."
The vice president used the term during a talk Tuesday to a nonprofit that provides legal aid to those in need. But the term is considered by some to be an anti-Semitic term for Jews, and the head of the Anti-Defamation League put out a statement criticizing Biden.
"Shylock represents the medieval stereotype about Jews and remains an offensive characterization to this day. The Vice President should have been more careful," Abraham Foxman said, while still calling Biden friendly to the Jewish community.

You should try reading a little Shakespeare sometime, it’s really surprisingly modern once you decode the language, which can be puzzling. You would find the comedies to be surprisingly witty. Plus it’s enriching, even if you have to use Cliffnotes.

To Biden? That’s who I meant. At one time I actually did talk to him once in while. He knew me by name because I worked at a news-talk radio station near his office in Wilmington. He used to hang out in our office and crack jokes after his monthly “Ask the Senator” show. Nice guy, but not presidential material.
Dunno why. I’d much prefer Biden. He’s less of an idiot than Barry and doesn’t have Jarret puppeteering him.

Not who you meant but what Biden meant to say instead of Shylock. How could you know what Biden meant to say. I replied to the original poster who used the word “Cheap” as a substitute for “Shylock”. We, who are educated, know who and what the term “Shylock” means.
