Studies have long shown that at least 60% of domestic violence incidents are started by the woman.
Women are, of course, far more likely to wind up seriously injured. But that’s primarily a consequence of disparities in size, strength and skill at using violence, not moral superiority.
IOW, a lot of women start fights and then lose them.
I’ve sometimes wondered to what extent the media portrayal of smallish women engaging in hand to hand with much larger men and winning has contributed to this. Until they find out the hard way, I think many modern women don’t realize how extreme the disparity is between the sexes in their ability to commit violence effectively.
“Studies have long shown that at least 60% of domestic violence incidents are started by the woman.”
There is “started” and there is “started”. Women “start” 97% of fights verbally, and perhaps 60% of fights physically.
I knew a girl in college that had the opinion that a good kick in the groin is enough to defeat any man.
So I (playfully) gave her the opportunity...
After about 3 seconds I had her pinned on the bed and asked, “what now?”.
She got the message. I don’t think she’d ever experienced the real difference in strength and power.
And then you have the proliferation of "women's self defense" classes, which have women sparring with male instructors who are not really trying their best to hurt their female students. Then they get into a real-world fight against some guy who actually hits back and shatters their illusion of being a bad-ass gurrrrl.
