TRENTON — Three city residents were arrested Thursday following an early morning gunpoint robbery.
The robbery occurred in the 600 block of Beatty Street around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday after a Wilquan Anderson, 19, of Trenton allegedly invited his friend over to see some girls, Lt. Mark Kieffer said. Unfortunately for the victim, it turned out there were no girls, only the barrel of a gun. According to Kieffer, the 21-year-old victim fled to a nearby McDonalds and called police.

The officers stopped the teen [that left the house] who became nervous when the patrolmen began to speak to him. They asked what was in the box, to which the teen allegedly replied it was his shoes, Kieffer said. Once officers actually inspected the box they found a black Ruger .22 caliber long-rifle target handgun along with armor piercing rounds. Kieffer described the handgun as having a long barrel, which is why it is referred to as a long-rifle handgun.

De officers den ax’ed if Anderson wuz in de apartment and wuz told he wuz not by Tatiana Newton. ‘S coo’, bro. Dey ax’ed anoda’ resident if dey wuz able t’search de crib and wuz allowed in t’search, Kieffa’ said. Officers searched da damn crib and found Newton on some bed wid whut appeared t’be some sucka hidin’ unda’ de covers on de bed next t’her. Ah be baaad... It wuz at dat point dat Anderson wuz snatchn into custody, Kieffa’ said.
Acco’din’ t’Kieffer, Newton wuz also arrested on charges uh hinderin’ apprehension and obstructin’ de administrashun uh justice. De gun used in de robbery wuz not located at da damn scene, Kieffa’ said.
