Mike Huckabee: Ted Cruz’s Worst Nightmare
National Review Online ^ | September 16, 2014 | Henry Olson

Posted on 09/16/2014 1:40:13 PM PDT by C19fan

Mike Huckabee dropped his biggest hint to date yesterday that he might run for president in 2016. Should he run, his national name ID and his strong 2008 run probably doom any chance Rick Santorum has (Santorum’s 2012 vote largely overlapped with Huckabee’s 2008 backers). But it also throws a huge monkey wrench into any hopes Senator Ted Cruz has of winning the nomination.

Junior O'Daniel: "A lot of people like that reform. Maybe we should get us some."

Pappy O"Daniel: "I'll reform you, you soft-headed son of a b***h. How we gonna run reform when we're the damn incumbent? Is that the best idea you boys can come up with? Reform?! Weepin' Jesus on the cross. That's it! You may as well start drafting my concession speach right now."

A few days ago mittens was on FNC and said he wasn’t running but would be backing a ‘strong’ candidate. I intitially thought he meant Perry but he may have meant Huckster.

Huckster delights in Chamber of Commerce-types working to crush TEA. I hope the RATS focus on him as their next target.

I have to say that the possibility of Cruz running for POTUS has the GOP-E wetting their collective panties...

If you listen to or read Hugh Hewitt, he is pushing Romney to run again. Romney is saying no, but Hewitt thinks Romney can be persuaded to run if Cruz looks like he is heading toward the nomination. Can't have the GOP run a conservative!

No, Romney will ride in to save the party from the Tea Party wing! We need a warmed-over, Dem-in-drag, two-time loser, GOP-E RINO to head the ticket! That will guarantee a win in 2016! [/sarcasm off]

I didn’t see that particular interview, but dang, Mitt and Huck seem like the odd couple for sure. Mitt is more conservative on issues of taxes and regulation, Huck more conservative of course on social issues. Real strange bedfellows.

Stupid, from you? You’re the king of stupid ideas. So, does Cruz dislike Catholics - you certainly do. Up until now, I had no idea of his religion.

So, what’s your point? People who you disagree with are fat and unattractive? Such a liberal position. And I don’t support Huckabee.

As bigoted and dishonest as you obviously are, there is no reason for you to be insulting Senator Cruz.

You jumped on this thread just to troll against Cruz?

Yeah, I troll conservative presidential threads just to annoy you. I responded to you because you brought in his religion which raised a red flag with me - after years of reading hatred towards Catholics from evangelicals. He’s probably a very decent, tolerant man - unlike the folks who post here. At least I hope so.

Huckster DOES draw support from low information Christian voters, and there are plenty.

True, it's the "Huckatorum" or "Santuckabee" faction. He and little Ricky will split this in 16 in Iowa, meaning neither will be a factor. However, Cruz will peel off some of this - with help from his dad - from low info Christian voters who are tired of Huck and Santorum. This won't be Cruz' main base - his base is the Limbaugh Levin Palin Reagan wing of the party - but he will peel off a few of the C-LOFOS (not to be confused with Christian conservatives who know what's going on)

You didn’t respond to me, you jumped in with bigotry directed at Ted Cruz and his religion, and your insults and phony attacks against me and then Evangelicals, the most pro-life, conservative voters in America.

It’s too bad you make yourself look like an idiot, not just for those reasons, but because of the thread topic that you are posting your nonsense on.

The thread topic is about Governor Huckabee being a threat to Senator Cruz for religious reasons and the perceptions among Evangelical Christians who are the largest portion of the tea party base.

Huckabee is a Southern Baptist Minister is what this article is about, to a normal person, pointing out that Ted Cruz is a Southern Baptist, and the son of a living Southern Baptist Minister, is relevant.
