Mike Huckabee: Ted Cruz’s Worst Nightmare
National Review Online ^ | September 16, 2014 | Henry Olson

Posted on 09/16/2014 1:40:13 PM PDT by C19fan

Mike Huckabee dropped his biggest hint to date yesterday that he might run for president in 2016. Should he run, his national name ID and his strong 2008 run probably doom any chance Rick Santorum has (Santorum’s 2012 vote largely overlapped with Huckabee’s 2008 backers). But it also throws a huge monkey wrench into any hopes Senator Ted Cruz has of winning the nomination.

What we also know is Cruz has natural appeal for Americans of hispanic descent who would vote for him with zeal. So the inverse is true: Cruz is Huckster’s worst nightmare.

That is true, and remember that Protestant Hispanics voted 56% republican in 2004, and 48% republican in 2008.

Once Cruz started campaigning and showing himself to Hispanics over the media spin, then he would do great with them.

I’ve read that about evangelicals. I could never be like that. I vote for the most conservative in primaries and then the Republican in the general.

Do what?

Evangelicals voted 79% for Romney, Catholics voted against him.

Pray that everyone vote like Evangelicals.

Who did you vote for in the last presidential race?

Well, look at the bright side: America had forgotten what communism was until 6 years of zero saddled them with it. Don’t see too many Che t-shirts around anymore.

As to why the missing chunk of evangelical voters: I can only guess the socialism of a guaranteed safety net.

But they’ve never seen Judeo-Christian America attacked as it’s been for the last 10 years, and Ted’s dad knows exactly how to convert this shock into new voters, if anybody can do it.

Hope you’re right. In many ways, this is no longer my country. I just don’t understand it!

You just learned something about the 2012 election that you claim not to know, and you want to ignore it?

Shouldn’t you at least say thanks for the info?

Evangelicals voted 79% for Romney, the majority of Catholics voted for Obama.

How did the group that voted more republican than any other, fall under your repeated criticism for not showing enough support for the GOP, instead of the groups that voted democrat by a majority?

LOL, still trying to sell Romney.

Did you support his position on abortion after he won the nomination?

I’m guessing you accidentally asked me that.

But let’s everybody get over the Romney thing, he really isn’t running this time around. Let’s coalesce before the GOPe coalesces US.

How do we get behind Cruz on the ground, nationally? I guess by working GOTV with the Churches. M. Thatcher said: First you win the argument, then you win the vote.

What will be our strongest argument, that will get people registered and then out voting?

No, it was directed at you, how did the group that voted more republican than any other, fall under your repeated criticism for not showing enough support for the GOP, instead of the groups that voted democrat by a majority?
