F-15’s and F-16’s have arresting hooks. They are not intended for carrier landing, just overrun gear.

I did not know their airframes were designed to withstand arresting cable landings.

With enough power, you can fly a brick. The F-15 has enormous power. It goes vertical and accelerates faster than the Apollo rocket system...up to a point that is.

They’re not. F-15 bases have wires at the end of the runways (not good to lose the brakes and go off the end of the runway and into the trees).
