The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence will sue the online gun dealers who sold weapons to Aurora Theater shooter James Holmes, according to a a local news report.

So if someone drowns in a swimming pool, they can sue the water company who supplied the water?

He passed NICS to get the rifle he could have passed any logical “check” the ammo supplier could have done. Funny how bad things happen when a dangerous lunatic is let out on the street by his mental health “professional” even though she is absolutely sure he is dangerous.

Are they suing the movie theater too like the shooting victims families are doing?

How does the Brady Center have legal standing to sue?

The bottom line is that a manufacturer is not responsible for how someone uses a product and neither is a seller..

Except that he was indeed who he said he was, and they certainly do not as a company policy have a reasonable expectation that an individual customer is going to use their bullets to commit mass murder. Next case.

Sure, and sue oil companies that provide fuel for a drunk drivers car.

Where does The Brady Bunch get their “standing” to sue anybody? Isn’t “standing” the next big thing in our judicial system? Throw the maggots out and make THEM pay all lawyer and court fees.

I agree with you. But the tobacco companies have found out otherwise.

The way they work it’s more like they would sue the life preservers. The “fish in a barrel” concept seems to fly right over their heads. “Shooter kills multiple people in theater and nobody shoots back” Gee, why is that? The only thing gun control does is get people killed, it does exact opposite they say it does. I saw a video yesterday of a guy getting robbed and shooting the robber. Threat instantly neutralized, and this happens all the time, but you’ll rarely if ever see the press report it. Instead they’ll report on the store owner who was killed during a robbery because unfortunately was unarmed because his 2nd amendment constitutional right was unconstitutionally infringed upon and now he is dead, and the press will blame once again the gun not the fact that he had no way to defend himself.

The vendors followed all applicable laws. This nothing more than the “sue and settle” attack the left is using to push all of their agendas.

First, what is their supposed basis for claim? They should not have standing.

Second, what law or regulation says that the websites didn’t use all required caution in dealing with their customers? If the websites are compliant, the lawsuit is frivolous.

Third, what in the world makes these people believe they have the right to prevent others from accessing a legal product in a legal manner?

Sounds like they want to use the discovery process to get the names of the ammo companies’ customers.

Like suing the manufacturer of the hammer you used to bang your finger. Then sue Lowe’s or Home Depot for selling it.
