US to send 3,000 troops to Ebola danger zone as Obama admin shuffles military's mission in Africa
Daily Mail ^ | September 15, 2014 | David Martosko, U.S. Political Editor

The United States government is sending thousands of military troops to the west African nation of Liberia as part of the Obama administration's Ebola virus-response strategy, the White House said late Monday night.

'U.S. Africa Command will set up a Joint Force Command headquartered in Monrovia, Liberia, to provide regional command and control support to U.S. military activities and facilitate coordination with U.S. government and international relief efforts,' a statement from the White House press office said.

'A general from U.S. Army Africa, the Army component of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), will lead this effort, which will involve an estimated 3,000 U.S. forces.'

Liberia is the hardest-hit of the four west African nations that have confirmed Ebola cases, accounting for more than one-half of the fatalities. The others are Sierra Leone, Guinea and, to a lesser extent, Nigeria.

Some of what America's armed personnel will do in Liberia is unclear. The White House said 'many' of them will be stationed at an 'intermediate staging base' where they will supervise the movement of medical staff, supplies and heavy equipment.

AFRICOM already warns its own personnel that they should 'avoid nonessential travel to Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia.'

And the Defense Department is concerned, one Pentagon official told MailOnline, about the public perceptions aroused when American G.I.s patrol ground zero in a disease outbreak that could plunge three or more countries into chaos if it worsens significantly.

Combat soldiers and Marines 'will be on hand and ready for anything,' said the official, who has knowledge of some, but not all, of the Ebola-related planning. 'But hopefully it will be all logistics and hospital-building.'

'The president has ordered us to help, and we're eager to do it,' he said....

Regardless. The monkeys weren’t licking the infected pigs. Or shaking hands with them, or touching their dead bodies.

They were just ‘near’ the infected pigs. No different than on a subway or public bus.

Or, in Monrovia, in a public taxi.

It’s not FAIR that Africans have Ebola and that white Americans don’t. /Obama

It would be a suicide mission. Those troops are not prepared to work in the middle of an Ebola epidemic. Even the esteemed doctors in the field who have specialized training and equipment are getting infected and dying. It's about time for a big "F**K Y**" from the troops to the enemy agent in the White Hut.

I don’t see it happening; they’ve lived through a long period of war where nobody gave a hoot about them, and know what will happen. I guess time will tell.

I think Americans have been there this whole time (since Bush II).

"What are troops going to do? Shoot the virus? Troops are for fighting."

In our Army and the armies of some of our allies, there are combat soldiers and Marines, and especially a particular kind of direct support soldiers, who are more well trained and much more well disciplined than any civilian group for dealing with biological hazards. There are no groups more qualified on this planet for that kind of work.

All: there are big differences between what you’ve seen in movies about plotting, scheming, fake zombie soldiers (actors) and our real Army. There are many differences between what you’ve seen in movies and reality. There are stark differences between what is spewed in political speech and the truth. But go ahead. Stay with the vanities, and see how that works out.

" What medical skills do these troops bring to the problem?"

Beyond their training to avoid contamination and decontaminate others, they're not butt-picking, eye-rubbing civilians.

"Um, I was in the Army."

The second reply was to "All:," as was written. I knew that you knew that. ;-)

I thought the first reply might be interesting for you, too...little something from the field in the past (but no designators or further descriptions).

FWIW,

The CDC is giving some poor advise:

Is it safe for Ebola patients to use the bathroom?

Yes. Sanitary sewers may be used for the safe disposal of patient waste. Additionally, sewage handling processes (e.g., anaerobic digestion, composting, disinfection) in the United States are designed to inactivate infectious agents.

from http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/hcp/environmental-infection-control-in-hospitals.html

The sanitary waste treatment systems are NOT designed to disinfect viral contagions. Additionally, the higher concentrations of Chlorine in Bleach and hyposchlorite solutions, which might be used to clean ebola infected areas, will also hinder normally designed wastewater treatment processes.

This doesn’t begin to address the issues of DBPs (Disinfection ByProducts), which tend to be environmentally damaging/hazardous.

At least Canadian websites provide more accurate assessments of the risks posed by the ebolavirus.

That is weird even if the part about treatment plants is accurate, sewer lines are just pipes, and plenty of guys are dealing with sewage before it gets to a treatment plant since all the lines are connected and back up, and break, and overflow, and so on.

The hospital line is just a part of the apartment complex system, which is part of the car dealer’s system, which is part of the McDonald’s system, and so on.

And I’ll bet the farm that the Nazi Soros and his eco-fascist pawns are behind this. President Buckwheat is following orders.

**********************************************
Just in case you missed it, after the 2008 market crash, there was a meeting of politicians and business leaders in Davos Switzerland. It’s an annual meeting - World Economic Forum or some such name.

Soros had a get together, and I don’t remember all the attendees.

It included Bill Gates and Oprah. Apparently they were coming together to help the world and according to the news reports, this group decided that the worst problem in the world was overpopulation.

Not reported was what their solution to the problem was.

So yes, I believe that Soros is likely to be pulling the strings.

This whole scenario sounds like a plot from a Stephen King novel.

Are we going to have to send 3000+ HAZMAT suits for our soldiers in danger? Some of those guys are going to have build the 17 different sites and they'll be needing more guys to watch their backs while they're building those tents and beds. And won't they make a tempting target for ISIL?

Do you have some links for those Canadian Sources. I think a lot of us would be interested in reading them.

In the interview with Dr. Brantly, he said that bleach was added to the toilet and a certain amount of time was to pass before flushing. That is certainly different from any regular protocol I have seen in hospitals.

It also is seems to be a contradiction of what the CDC is saying.

Something that no one has mentioned, but which must have occurred to more than just me is......what if this isn’t some insane stunt by Obama?

The nightmare scenario would be that the situation and projections are so much worse than we think, that this is a desperate act to regain control of something worse than we realize, and that is a bigger threat to civilization than we realize, one so big, and so close to fruition, that this desperate decision is called for?

It might be time to look at other advanced nations and see if they are taking any desperate measures, if they appear to be overreacting, then it could be that the people in the know know something, if not, then it is Obama.
