All computer work this way.. you turn it on.. the cpu is hardwired to read the first instruction... that first instruction is to start read in a bigger program from some i/o device.. and that might ever call a bigger program on another i/o device...

bottom line the phone is going to gave a bootstrap loader program that will get in up to the point to get on network to download the new os.

Guy.. this is really simple.. it just the way computers work... smaller simpler program call bigger programs.

how do you think you would install the new os even in the factory?.. the phone has to have the basic smarts TO talk to in the first place to install a os..

Ive been working in computer and networks since 1980.. my first machine was a pdp 8 that i had to hand load a bootstrap loader to just talk to a disk to load an os
