White man shoots and kills black man. Predominantly black population protests, riots, loots. Predominantly white police force overwhelmed. Governor calls out the National Guard. Curfew imposed.
Similar events took place in Newark and Detroit in the summer of 1967. President Johnson responded by dispatching what would become known as the Kerner Commission to find the causes and propose a solution. The commissions basic conclusion was Our nation is moving toward two societies, one black, one white separate and unequal.
Among its findings, the commission reported action against local symbols of white American society, authority and property. No single triggering event caused the disorders. They were part of a disturbed atmosphere in which tension-heightening prior incidents, often police action, became linked in the minds of blacks with a reservoir of underlying grievances in communities where blacks were grossly underrepresented in government. The two most intensely held grievances were police practices and unemployment.
The most fundamental reason for civil disorder in 1967 was the racial attitude and behavior of white Americans toward black Americans. Contributing factors included exposure through the media to unparalleled white prosperity, an unemployment rate more than double that of whites, and the frustrated hopes of unfulfilled expectations aroused by the major events of the Civil Rights Era.
The commissions proposed solution was not equality, but equity. De jure equality, meaning everyone is promised the same amount of access, the declaration of a colorblind society, already existed in 1967 because of the Civil_Rights_Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The commission recognized that it was too late for de jure equality. Equity, granting more to those who need the most, was the cure: Only a commitment to national action on an unprecedented scale can shape a future compatible with the historic ideals of American society.(continued)

But the Black Underclass is mired in crime and apathy waiting for the scraps from the gov. they feel are their due. The Black Underclass's incredible violence and leeching on the taxpayer makes them easily America's largest social problem. They'll never adapt to civilization. What to do with them is a terrible problem. I don't see the powers that be doing anything meaning we might looking at violent, racial clashes in the future thanks to their, the powers that be, inaction.
If you glorify drugs, violence and disrespecting women, your culture is broken. If you reject your own people who work hard and achieve as being somehow white, your culture is broken. If your pastors spend more time preaching about evil white people and less time preaching about the Salvation of Jesus Christ (or about condemning bad behavior in your own communities), your culture is broken. If it is COOL to be a foul-mouthed young man with no job skills, your culture is broken. If you would rather do nothing and be paid for it, your culture is broken. If you view the children you father as at best a meal ticket and at worst no responsibility of yours, your culture is broken.
This broken culture is possibly best illustrated by the endless parade of rap stars gunned down every time you turn on the media. I mean, guys if you are going to be vulgar enough to actually make money off of words that would have gotten my backside well-beaten by my parents fifty years ago, TAKE THE MONEY, MOVE OUT OF THE HELL-HOLE YOU GREW UP IN and STOP HANGING AROUND WITH THE KIND OF VULGAR DANGERIOUS IDIOTS YOU GREW UP WITH! It is the culture at fault, because no Rapper ever says, Whew! That chapter of my life is over! Now I can just take the money, move my family somewhere safe, and change my dumb-ass street name to Phillip Johnson and have a safe, normal life!
Every February, I am bombarded with the rightfully impressive achievements of fine black people. Almost all of them are famous for what happened decades ago, and of the ones that are promoted today, I rarely see the Black Conservatives that I know so well, because (implied) theyre not really black. If I were to point out that the people being ignored are all rich, successful, hard-working individuals and that it is racist to dismiss them as somehow not Black because they are not keeping it real, I would be branded with as a racist very quickly. But I am sorry, let me understand this, Real black culture is to live violently, exploit the system, and die badly? You are PROUD to say that is your yardstick for what you want your culture to pursue? And I am a bad guy for believing you can do better and achieve great things?
I also frequently hear in the media that, because I expect young black men to behave excellently, work hard, and take care of their families, I am disrespecting somebody. Foo! Respect is earned. Get a job, work hard and take care of your families, love your wife, your kids, take care of your house, and live a Godly life, and I dont care what color you are. Black, Blue, Green
I am color blind. Behave well and EARN my respect.
DEMOCRATS: "You poor little babies! The world is a big, mean place, and the cards are stacked against you, so there is NO WAY you can be expected to rise above the dreadful lives you live! You can't possibly be brilliant and achieve on your own, so we will make excuses for you; if you want free stuff either ask us and we will get it for you or riot and take it, because you are so oppressed you deserve it anyway. Those Big Meanies in the GOP JUST HATE YOU BECAUSE OF YOUR SKIN COLOR so vote for us again and again and again, and we will never hold you to any kind of common standard. How can you do anything without us...I mean, you're black."
Remind me who the racists are again? |
They expressed their concern by looting his store and burning it down.
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet. “It’s so strange — we keep voting for the Democrats, and things keep getting worse. No fathers in the home, no punishment for criminals who live in this neighborhood. It’s almost as if the Democrats were the party of slavery, of the klan, of Jim Crow, of Cabrini Green...”
LOL - yeah, 'almost'...
