America On The Edge

Today our country is in the midst of a battle for survival. We face a well armed and well funded terror army, Islamic State, which has grown to 31,500 fighters, including 2,000 from Western nations. In his recent national address, President Obama outlined a more aggressive approach to attack the terrorists in Iraq and Syria. Unfortunately, battling the terrorists in the Middle East is not enough. Due to our open border, there is little doubt the terrorists have infiltrated this nation.

While the President talks tough about bombing Islamic State terrorists, he will not address the border crisis. Because of this inaction, Texas Governor Rick Perry has been forced to send his National Guard troops to border locations.

Sadly, this is too little, too late. There is no fence across most of the border region, in violation of the law. Our safety is being compromised as we have no idea what drugs, weapons or bombs are entering the United States.

Filmmaker James O’Keefe exposed how ridiculously easy it is to cross the Southern border even dressed as Osama Bin Laden. He crossed the Northern border carrying a bag marked “ricin.” No one stopped him as his traveled to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio and entered the building with a Duffel bag that could have been filled with biological weapons.

Terrorists are not stupid, they know we are vulnerable; however, due to politics the President and the Democrats will not enforce our current laws to protect this nation.

As the administration refuses to secure the border, it prepares to reward those who illegally crossed the border. In November, the President will grant amnesty to 6 million illegal aliens, who will receive work permits, Social Security cards and photo Id’s. This action will be popular with millions of Hispanic voters who will vote Democratic in greater numbers. Most of the newly minted Americans will join them in the Democratic Party, once their pathway to citizenship is complete.

The plan is to remake America into a one party country with Democrats unbeatable in national elections. If Texas is turned “blue” and becomes a Democratic state, it will become impossible for Republicans to win the presidency.

The Republican Congress has passed legislation to stop amnesty, but, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will not allow a vote. He wants to shield Democrats like Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu from a choice of whether to side with her party or her constituents.

Reid wants the President to act because it will help Democrats. In fact, he hopes the President goes “Real Big” when he bestows amnesty. Reid does not care that Obama will be breaking the law when he awards amnesty to lawbreakers.

The last time millions of illegal aliens were granted amnesty was in 1986, when Congress passed legislation and it was signed by the President. This time, Obama cannot get such legislation through the House, so he will act on his own, in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

When this is done, our country will be forever changed. The checks and balances between the branches of government will be destroyed as the President will be acting with dictatorial power.

In response, Congress should impeach Obama or remove funding so amnesty cannot be implemented by the government. The problem is that the House is led by the feckless John Boehner who will not challenge the President. The Senate will not act because it has a Democratic majority, unless that changes in November.

It is dangerous time for America. The threats at home and abroad are very serious, but we are being led by individuals who place politics ahead of national security, to the peril of every American.

The problem is that most of the Muslims, including the ones who attacked us, aren’t illegals and didn’t come in over the southern border (although I think some have come down through Canada). They are fully legal, and we let them attack us, ally with jihadis...and come and go. And if their visas expire, we just ignore it and they can still go on collecting welfare.

The southern border is definitely too porous, and something has got to be done about it (but not by Obama, clearly). However, the biggest problem we have is LEGAL immigration.

No way. In fact, I’d announce loud and clear that any “amesties” granted by unilateral and illegal presidential fiat will be considered invalid from the get-go, and will be reversed and rejected by the next president.

Keep them in the “shadows” living in fear, then step by step, cut off their govt support until they “self deport.”

They will keep coming as long as America is a big open ATM for them.

The state of the LEGAL immigration shows it is badly in need of reform. The H-1B is a non-immigrant visa in the United States under the Immigration and Nationality Act. The H-1B visas issued for the entry of high-tech specialists and researchers have to be reassessed, particularly as it impacts the very fields where Americans are willing to work, and would work in a highly productive manner, but which are being bid out the cheapest or most compliant employees.

There is currently more than enough talent among natural-born or naturalized citizens in most fields under which this form of work visa is issued. We have college graduates being turned away every day for these residential worker programs, which have the caveat that if the H-1B holder quits or is dismissed from the sponsoring employer, the worker must either apply for and be granted a change of status to another non-immigrant status, find another employer (subject to application for adjustment of status and/or change of visa), or leave the US. This is a powerful club to hold over the head of any employee, and one not one easily used against a US citizen applying for the position.

Of course, if one of these holders of an H1-1 visa does go rogue, and does not leave the country, with the extremely lax policies of expulsion of those who overstay their visa, a great deal of mischief may be worked in a very impactful manner. Another residential visa, the J-1 for scholars and some undergraduates, is subject to even more abuse, as there seems to be little oversight as to whether the “student” is necessarily still enrolled in the field of study for which he or she may have entered, and it is often allowed to lapse without the required renewal on a timely basis. There may be a temptation to steal a US citizen’s identity, and simply assume a life under illegitimate circumstances. Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev came and remained in this country on a fraudulent application, and even when the Russian Federation warned US authorities about the danger this pair posed, nothing was done until AFTER the Boston Marathon bombing.

Purge them all, summarily expel them from the soil of the US, and allow them to apply on readmission only on the basis of a full background review, which will NOT be granted on any “compassionate” grounds. If the applicant is not good for the US, and shall present any burden upon the governmental entities AT ANY TIME, those individuals shall not be admitted.

Admission to the US is a PRIVILEGE, not any kind of “right”.
