Both the Russians and The Chinese were infamous for their secrecy during The Cold War years back. I suspect some of that insular paranoia remains part of both cultures even today. The only way we would know about any Russian POWs in the Middle East is if a western prisoner saw them and told us about it, or, more likely, if the Russians wanted us to know. They have nothing to gain by admitting one of their men has been caught, because that would only gain them greater scrutiny from the rest of the world wondering what will the Russians do to rescue their man, and will it be approved of by the ‘World Court’?

I realize what you are saying regarding secrecy by both Russia and China. America was warned regarding Boston by Russian Intelligence. Information sharing is a business. If Intelligence is withholding information can be both good and bad. In this situation if Russia has persons being held by isis would be lucrative for Russia to share that information and corporation. Might work out best to share if Russia is willing. There are currently warnings to Russia of islamic intentions directed at Russia. Russia needs to open up in this instance if they know of some of their people also being held.

I’m not sure about that. He was Scottish, and with the upcoming referendum on independence this could go either way. It could galvanise people who want to stay in the UK to vote to stay within the Union and enjoy the greater protection of the UK.

It could encourage more people to vote for independence. Many of the yessers arguments against staying in the Union are because of the UK’s involvement in so-called ‘illegal wars’ and they may try to use this as evidence that being part of the UK encourages Muslim terrorists to target Scots and Scotland.
Either way, it probably wouldn’t be wise for the UK to be involved in a war right now. It would antagonise a lot of people leaning towards voting ‘yes’ and as far as I’m concerned, preserving the Union is a far more important issue right now than dealing with ISIS.

Am beginning to find some hints of Russians having been killed by isis. These facts should be known by Putin because there are facts. Intelligence information is not a one way street. Russia has been given more than ample intelligence after Russia supplied information regarding the main Boston bomber. Is time for Russia to anti up some intelligence. Intelligence to Russia from Western sources warning Russia Intelligence regarding isis intentions has been more than sufficient. Russian Intelligence should answer back to Western Intelligence regarding Russian hostages being held or having been murdered by isis.

I would think ISIS would know not to mess around with Russians given the way Russia treats Somali pirates (the YouTube videos of Russian Marines/Navy disarming Somali pirates, tying them up, and then using them and their boats for target practice).
Would the lame-stream try to create a world war to draw attention to their product? I would not put it past the lame-stream media, in my house.
