Firefighters not only work together they live together and get to know one another very well. You’d be surprised how little theft there is in FD’s because it’s about the fastest way there is to get fired, no second chances unless departments have drastically changed.

I never said they’re exempt, I said if they’re caught they get fired. I’ve been in the military also and there’s a lot of difference. I can’t get into this guys head, he did lie and I can’t stand a liar.
This station is his duty station and had something come up missing and he was the one to secure it after the apparatus door was left open he’d be in the spotlight. Not saying it’s impossible but doubt he did intend to steal with his two kids with him.

Get caught stealing in the military, and you generally get a trip home, with a less than honorable discharge.

The Crime Mapping website must be selective or incomplete. I put my low income high population city zip in and it reported zero crimes for the past week. Impossible.
Two NY city police have told me on two different occasions that they have caught firemen stealing from houses after they had been in from a fire, but the charges could never go forward.
I wouldn’t have minded being a firemen in most areas Hang out for 24 hours in a station, work out, watch TV, have your wife come to the station to hang out ,and have hardly a call which calls for any danger.
The firemen here hardly do anything, infact it’ss rare to see a firetruck moving out of the station
