You clearly are not familiar with Cruz’s resume and experience before becoming a senator. No comparison to the back bencher in the Illinois legislature.
What world are these liberals living in? If anything, articles like this should reinforce the fact that the American left despises Israel, and blames them for all the turmoil in that part of the world. For all their whining about racism, the white liberal left have no problems going after Ted Cruz with both barrels, do they?

Christian Reconstructionism is a fundamentalist[1] Calvinist theonomic movement, founded by Rousas John Rushdoony, that has had an important influence on the Christian Right in the United States.[2][3] The movement declined in the 1990s and was declared dead in a 2008 Church History journal article.[4] Christian Reconstructionists are usually postmillennialists and followers of the presuppositional apologetics of Cornelius Van Til. They tend to support a decentralized political order resulting in laissez-faire capitalism.[5]

Christian Reconstructionists advocate a theocratic government and libertarian economic principles. They maintain a distinction of sphere of authority between family, church, and state.[6][7] For example, enforcement of moral sanctions under theonomy is done by family and church government, and sanctions for moral offenses is outside the authority of civil government (which is limited to criminal matters, courts and national defense). However, these distinctions become blurred, as the application of theonomy typically increases the authority of the civil government; prominent advocates of Christian Reconstructionism have written that according to their understanding, God’s law approves of the death penalty not only for murder, but also for propagators of all forms of idolatry,[8][9] active homosexuals,[10] adulterers, practitioners of witchcraft, and blasphemers,[11] and perhaps even recalcitrant youths[12] (see the List of capital crimes in the Bible).
American Vision’s Joel McDurmon responded to these criticisms by denying that Reconstructionists have promoted coercive means.[13]

We were all staggered by that statistic... looks like we might be capturing that heretofore passive chunk of the electorate, and this is as terrifying to the Left as the hispanics throwing their support to Cruz. Cruz can persuade multi-millions off the couch, giving these two demographics something to vote FOR.
Of course the Left is going after him. But the people who will be affected by the attacks were never going to vote for him in the first place, so no net for the RATS.
Dems don’t like him using their own tactics. Had a Dem said something to that effect they might have raised their head for a second then gone straight back into their cell phones without saying a word
On the other hand, I wonder how Christians in Israel are treated? Can they worship openly? Can they proselytize without threats to their safety? True, I was dismayed when I saw the clip of how they responded to Sen. Cruz and I thought the whole thing was a set-up by muslims. I am just confused by the whole episode.

That's not what he said. Cruz' statement implies that the state of Israel is the great protector of Middle East Christians - which is obviously untrue. Israel is not in a position to do much of anything for persecuted minorities in neighboring countries, even if it were so inclined.
He speaks directly, candidly and well on Conservative issues without the need of a teleprompter. Something far too few Republicans seem capable of. Also he was an Adjunct Professor teaching Supreme Court Litigation. A little better than intro to Con Law that a vaunted "AP" part time lecturer so effectively used to make people believe he had a clue about the Constitution. The biggest thing is He is a Conservative!
George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Dwight D. Eisenhower had little or no political experience before becoming president, and they turned out to be pretty good chief executives, wouldn’t you say? It’s what they believe in and the vision they have to lead the nation that counts. There are plenty of experienced politicians out there I would never want to see in the White House, so your premise that experience matters before assuming the presidency is not always true.

the very idea that such a distorted/falsified editorial could even be published....shows that Christianity in USA is in serious, serious trouble
despite the best efforts of many of our churches (of various denominations), priests and pastors.... we have a terrible Satanic fever on the loose (remember the Democratic convention where they actually booed America and Israel?)...

Yes. I enjoy a good rant or a good pan more than most people, but I can’t stand sneering condescension. Whatever point this writer is trying to make should have been expressed in a more sober tone if he wants people to learn about it.
