Free shooting zones .... if you’re carrying concealed who’s to know? It’s for my protection not someone else ....

a little something on Pat Jr. I remember Pat Simmons. He always had hair down to his butt (almost). I think he did not perform with the Doobies for 25 years or so

Gun control can be accomplished in many different ways. Why should Democrats push strict gun control in the form of laws when they can just pressure one business after another to set restrictions? Who knows what else they have up their sleeves? When you are truly lawless, there are no boundaries.

I ignore all gun free zones. I hold a CCL and have every right to carry it anywhere that allows public access. It is in my pocket. How would they know I have it?

Panera respects the rights of gun owners (???), but asks our customers to help preserve the environment we are working to create for our guests and associates.

A target-rich environment, apparently.

From the notices, I never realized I was having all these retail “experiences”.

Never liked them. Their bread is often dry and everything costs about ten times more than it would be worth if it was palatable.

The same goes for Star Bucks. Never understood how a cup of coffee and a roll could cost almost $10. Yet, people but it.

None of these businesses are one I can’t live without. I carry at simon malls regardless of their policy because some of them have large numbers of travon Martin and Michael brown types.

Their business thus their right to run it as they see fit. Likewise
it is my right to patronize those businesses as I see fit.

They can ask all they want. My response to such a request cannot be printed here.

All CCL states should require any building that wants to be gun free to provide free, secure weapons storage at the door, so a weapon can be checked and retrieved after the patron leaves.

Gunfree zone=no fly zone for me. Probably won't have an impact on their bottom line.

If I can avoid the entire State of New Jersey for this reason, I can avoid some wallet emptying, metro attracting sandwich shop quite easily.

Most of those actually do not prohibit firearms. Only a few, such as AMC Theaters, have actually posted a “no weapons” sign, which is the requirement here in VA to ban guns.

Same with Ohio. Even with the sign, I carry concealed. They can't stop me and I am not braggadocios.

Wouldn't it be smarter to have a “No Criminals” policy?

Thank I agree, and there was this football game two weeks ago where my buddy left his cc in the car but forgot his knife. NFL parking lots are a long walk.

Most of these places are requesting no CC. They are not banning guns. They are just requesting because this earns them brownie points with certain kinds of cuistomers.

IOW they are buffing their image in hopes it leads to more liberal customers. These frou frou stores are like Eskimos in a bed. When one rolls over all the others have to roll over

Decisions like this are thought out and designed to project a sense of safety and security. They are also meant to stir up anger and decent.
It is called concealed because you don’t want it known you are armed. Companies need to understand Constitutional rights have no boundaries. These restrictions must be tested in court.
Truth is no one here is going to alter their habits to conform to the progressive nazi way of behavior. Just because someone asks me to behave a certain way doesn’t mean I must comply, it is called decent for a reason.
I wish these folks luck with their dreams and desires, me I will continue to protect myself and my family.

"We ask that guns not be brought into this environment unless carried by an authorized law enforcement officer. Panera respects the rights of gun owners, but asks our customers to help preserve the environment we are working to create for our guests and associates."

No, Panera, you do not in fact "respect the rights of gun owners." You don't get to claim that at the same time you are asking us not to exercise those rights. Would you be "respecting the rights of gays" if you asked homosexual couples to not come into your establishments, or if they did act completely plutonic? Yeah, let's see you try that policy and what happens with the gaystapo.

In other words Panera, you want an environment where armed robbers will feel welcomed - knowing that now they will have a safer working environment when they come into a Panera to "go to work."

I can probably count the times I've been in a Panera in the last year on the fingers of one hand, with fingers left over to pick up my coffee cup... So when I say I won't be darkening their doors, they're not losing much of a customer. I have my own list of places around here I don't go because of their no firearms policies. I don't miss them.

I will say this, if they are only "asking" me not to bring a firearm into their store, I will anyway if I have some good reason to be there. That's why it is called concealed carry. In my state, even carrying into a place posted "no firearms" is not a crime. If discovered, the owners can ask you to leave. If you do not comply you can be cited for trespass. But just "accidentally" carrying into a place without permanent security and screening is not a crime.

However, I make it a personal policy not to patronize such establishments because I do not agree with their no-firearms stance and yes, it is that important to me. I also avoid them because they attract criminals and represent an increased risk.
