Land stolen from Christians? What evidence of this claim? Not that is really matters, because the history of mankind is repeated “theft” of land from each other. What matters is the present, and presently the Kurds are the ONLY group in the region that DO NOT oppress Christians. In fact, some 300,000 Christians have fled from Mosul to Erbil this year. As for an independent Christian state, that used to be Lebanon, but they didn’t have the will to hold out against the Shiites. For now at least, Christians can have refuge ONLY in Iraqi/Syrian Kurdistan. That’s good enough for me, why not you?

Thank you very much for taking the time to explain this. This came up once before.

I don’t think an ISIS state on Israel’s border will last long. At least I hope not. I have a feeling they’d find out what damage nukes will do.

Assyrian Genocide

history of mankind is repeated “theft” of land from each other.

In your mind, this argument justifies genocide?

As for an independent Christian state, that used to be Lebanon, but they didn’t have the will to hold out against the Shiites.

So, just to be clear, you support the formation of an independent muslim Kurdish state, but you do not support the formation of an independent Assyrian Christian state.

Aren’t these the “rebels” who murdered Christians?

Truth: there are no good guys in the middle east. Some are worse than others, but none can be trusted with truth, money or arms.

Ok, but the Assyrian Genocide occurred almost one century ago, how many Kurds are still alive that took part in it? You cant seriously put blame on Kurds that were born several decades AFTER the genocide. Unless you’re one of those people that say the American Indians and Blacks should receive reparations too? I’m not bound by the sins of my Great Grandfathers, and neither are the Kurds.

“In your mind, this argument justifies genocide?”

No, I’m just saying that mankind is selfish and cruel and that we cannot change the past. All we can do is mold the future.

“So, just to be clear, you support the formation of an independent muslim Kurdish state, but you do not support the formation of an independent Assyrian Christian state.”

You make too many assumptions, let me be clear. I support an independent Kurdish state, and I would also like to see a haven for Christians in the Middle East. That haven USED to be Lebanon, but the Christians there have capitulated to the Muslims. I’m not sure whether or not Iraqi Christians want their own country, but right now I think that is the least of their concerns. The fact is that TODAY ISIS is slaughtering and enslaving Christians, NOT the Kurds! TODAY the Kurds are actually helping the Christians and giving them asylum.

Call me when the Kurds start oppressing Christians. Although I suspect you will be waiting awhile.

Which ones? Who are they going to fight? ISIS,AL NUSRA,ALQUEDA,HAVE ALL agreed to stop fighting each other and work together to depose Assad.
So who are we going to train and who will they B fighting? Are they defending Assad,I thought Obama wanted Assad gone?
Well that’s what ISIS and the rest want.
So are we now allies with the head choppers? This is insanity,I wish someone could figure this crap out,I cant.

Ok

Good of you to admit that "Kurdistan" is made of land taken from Christians by genocide. At least we got that out of the way.
