"Snowden Belongs in Jail, Not in Switzerland"
Foreign Policy ^ | 9/12/14 | John Hudson

Posted on 09/12/2014 4:38:58 PM PDT by babylon_times

This week, Switzerland's attorney general completed a legal opinion on the question of whether Snowden could be granted political asylum if he traveled to Switzerland to testify about the National Security Agency's surveillance activities in the Swiss homeland. The AG's office concluded that Snowden would be given asylum as long as prior obligations made by higher-level Swiss officials did not take priority.

What an irony. Eric Holder instructs Bill Clinton to pardon Marc Rich who resides in Switzerland. Now Holder has to face the fact that Snowden may also shortly be residing in Switzerland.

Very good point. It’s war and all is fair. The truth being the first casualty.

Question is will 0 and his band of bandits all receive a pardon from him when it is finally determined that he’s a Pelosi certified foreigner with a big ass grudge.

I’m still waiting to see a detailed list of all the intelligence that he has compromised. If he has compromised it then it would be very easy to just go ahead and list it in a newspaper or online.

All I see and hear is the Clappers, the MSM administration pimps and pimpettes, the political warmongers, and their ilk running their mouths with Global Warming quality accusations and facts.

Any terrorist worth his 72 animal/human virgins is probably not using a cell phone, American Express, credit cards under his/her real name and address. Most of the methods and means of intelligence collection were revealed previously when they were whoring for the Democrats.

The only thing that Snowden did was divulge the extent that the US Progressive branch of the New World Order had burrowed into our government to destroy our Bill of Rights.

If you want to say Snowden is a traitor then let’s see some facts and not the evasive “it’s classified”, “we disrupted 100,000 attacks on the “homeland” with this intelligence but we can’t tell you about it(note the communist terminology straight from Stalin), he destroyed 100 billion dollars of intelligence investment (if he destroyed it then what is it since it has been rendered useless), etc.

I agree. Does anything think that an regime like this one won’t use illegal spy data against their political enemies here at home?

It was the ‘ace in the hole’ when 0bamma was negotiating with the PUBBIES on the government shutdown.

He knew exactly when they’d cave.

I think Bonner and crew have wised up a little since then however.

At least they are keeping track of terrorists here at home. Oh, wait. They had to ask the public for help identifying the Boston bombers.

What would you do if you were in Snowden's shoes, and saw the full extent of he US's Spying???

Exactly what he's doing now, letting some govt. provide him with legal council while he basks in the glory of being a spy......

His days are numbered tho......

Laz, when I see Pelosi, Holder, Clinton, McCain, Little Lindsey, and Rove and all,all agreeing on something ,anything, I know to disagree. You have to take the good with the bad sometimes.

imagine youre in a landing craft headed to Normandy Beach, alone, lost in your thoughts, reviewing your life, summoning up your courage.

A guy jumps up on the front of the craft:

hey guys today we’re going to do it...! We’re going to run up the beach to take those cliffs, because if we don’t, then someday Americans might have to live in a country where it’s impossible to intercept and scan all email, photos, texts and chats...!

So tell me:

How many run up the beach...?

Tough call for a lot of people, particularly if one believes the state is the moral arbitor and possesses supreme soveriegnty to do as they wish.

We should have a clandestine system to watch our enemies amd eventually confront them judicially or by means of war but, it cannot come at the expense of our rights and violate that which is God given and spelled out specifically as the right of the people.

If the government were not violating our rights there would be no need for a Snowden.

To be fair(and I hate being fair) PRISM wasn’t created and implemented under the Kenyan’s watch. However?, the buck stops on his desk and it’s now his responsibility.

For violation of his Top Secret Clearance and for assisting foreign countries with insights into our espionage against their countries.

However, he ALSO deserves a Congressional Medal of Honor for revealing domestic spying and the horrible liberties taken (and forced) by the NSA.

It is a quandry, no? :)

.... or even for someone like me, who believes swearing an oath to the government MEANS something... provided that said government is not actually killing, injuring, relocating, or imprisoning people for political beliefs.

The above is my red-line. His was set lower. Thusly the dichotomy of my answer: He deserves both prison, and acclaim and award.

Yes. Actually, the Congressional Medal of Honor, a long prison sentence, the Nobel Peace Prize, and heavy fines.
