More than resisting arrest. In most states, a perp who assaults an officer, has now become a threat to public safety and MUST be pursued and taken into custody,...to protect the public.
I suspect the officer didn’t have a choice to legitimately ignore Brown’s actions, nor could he allow Brown to walk away. Either Brown submitted to police authority and had to be taken into custody or physically halted from leaving the scene.
She looks stoned to me.
bttt
I asked the same question myself.
There is no answer, and probably never will be.
Because the professional agitators didn't think it was needed , at first. As their house of cards keeps falling down, they dug this up in hopes it would save them.
Yes, Wilson firing at Brown while he was running away might provide the hook for Holder to hang him on a cooked-up excessive use of force charge. That fact is still TBD.
Officer Wilson said, “I’m gonna kill you”. This was in response to having the door slammed on him as he was getting out, and then after trying to get out again being driven back inside the vehicle by 300 lbs of angry black teenager where a struggle for the gun ensued and a shot was fired.
I think it was the appropriate response at the time. It would be mine, even if I only planned to arrest him. I don’t even think I could stop myself from saying it.
Now, the officer MUST have then said something like “HALT”, because Mike stopped running away, turned around and said, “Whatcha gonna do, shoot me ?” If the officer had been silent, Mike’s RESPONSE makes no sense.
Also, as Mike was standing there taunting the officer (with his hands raised (It’s a ‘black’ thing), Dorian yelled “Go, Bro, Go.”
That is when Mike charged the officer for the last time.
This correlates to the 'audio' portion of a video where an 'on-site' witness is overheard describing what happened to another crowd member. His statement (translated from ebonics) was something to the effect that the Officer was shooting , but oddly seemed to be 'missing' his target.
P.S. As I described in my previous post, It could have been a couple of shots fired over Mike’s head that caused him to stop, turn around and taunt the cop. Then, when Mike charged at the officer, he had to fire for effect.
It all depends on how many bullets were left in Officer Wilson’s gun (it had 13+1 to start) after the shooting.
This info seems impossible to get , at this point.
