I think the GOP-e secretly fears the prospect of winning the majority in the Senate and taking on the inherent responsibilities. It’s far easier to spend your days stepping before microphones and complaining about Harry Reid’s unwillingness to let any meaningful legislation move forward.

I wouldn’t say Perdue is in “deep trouble.” He’s leading in the polls. The last two polls I’ve seen have shown him with a 4-6 point lead. And I wouldn’t characterize him as a establishment type. Since he’s never even served a day in any political office. Now Pat Roberts is another story...
