We went to Afghanistan, Harkin because that's where the G-Damn terrorists were training and planning. By his logic if an American went to another country and participated in a terror act, that gives other countries a reason to bomb the US. What convoluted idiocy.
We went to Iraq because Saddam Hussein was funding middle east terror, was defying his agreements with the UN post gulf-war and was attacking our planes who where in his airspace as part of the agreement. He defied the UN and the US, and thought we were bluffing when we said we'd take him out.

Actually, Jennifer, we under-reacted to 911. The entire middle east should have been put on notice that western powers will never ever tolerate such barbarism. A Truman response was needed and deserved. Saudis should have been undercut by an hyper shift towards domestic energy. The training camps and supporters should have been radiated out of existence.
