Former President George W. Bush said Thursday that he had a moment of clarity in a Florida elementary school classroom on Sept. 11, 2001, when his chief of staff told him the second World Trade Center tower had been struck by a jetliner and the U.S. was under attack.
A young girl was reading aloud at the time, Bush recalled during a paid appearance at a college scholarship luncheon, an event that coincided with the 13th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. He said he realized that morning that his job was to protect the girl, her family and their community.
“All the decisions I made were with the intention of protecting that child,” Bush said. Without mentioning specifics, he acknowledged that some of those decisions were viewed negatively.
He also said the 9/11 attacks made him something he never wanted to be—a war-time president. …

but the left successfully painted him as a warmonger and incompetent. Bush, like all presidents (and humans) had his strengths and weaknesses, but it is a crime what the radical left did to him over his term. These same people whine now about the poor treatment Obama gets when criticism is 99.9% policy based.
No movies celebrating his assassination. No oppositions undercutting his foreign policy decisions, calling troops murderers, or politicizing war decisions. No false accusations of lying to go to war. Bush has been painted as making a bad decision going to Iraq, but it was supported by every key Democrat in Washington at the time, and a continuation of the Clinton era policies. Good decision or bad, it was not just him.

I don't watch TV and don't have cable, but I'll hazard a guess that Mr. Bush will be visible "in moderation" tonight.
In fact - gee, as long as I'm hazard guesses - Obama gave his big speech last night so the networks would have something to show besides Bush tonight.

In realty, 9-11-2001 did happen due to KKKlintoon. That American hating draft-dodger set all of the pieces in place for the muzzie attack. I have no doubt that as the planes struck the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that Bubba and Hitlerly were smiling and saying well done. The new paint on the Oval Office door barely dried when President Bush and Vice President Cheney had to deal with the islamic attack which had been paved by KKKlintoon's failure to destroy the muzzies and their leader, Bin Laden.

What do they mean? The school paid Bush to show up and read to the kids? I've never heard of this before. How much did they pay? Where did the money go, into Bush's pocket?

Precisely. More people need to realize that the Muslim agenda infested the Dementocrat Party long before Hussein Soetoro; Carter was (and arguably continues to be) the primary American architect of America's destruction, with Bubba and Barack being loyal disciples of Carter. Bush's only failure in foreign policy was naively assuming that the Iraqis were genuinely interested in democracy, when in actuality they just wanted to become a satellite of Iran.
Bush wasn't brutal enough in dealing with the Muslims, but that's still better than having a "President" who actively wants ISIS and Iran to dominate the region.
They were referring to today’s appearance but wrote the story so badly (or intentionally) to make it read like the appearance at the kindergarten was a paid one.
