Obama, who did not grow up as an American, cannot even try to seem like one of us. We all call it ISIS. He insists on calling it ISIL. (And yes I know about the land of Levant). We all call it Pack-i-stan. He insists on calling it Pock-EE-Stahn. (And yes I know he went to this muslim country when he was in “college.”) So? Shortly after college I went to France, but I don’t call its capital “Paree” because Americans call it Paris. This guy is a true A-hole. And the “A” does not stand for American.

In an ideal sense, it’s not like it really matters anyway. Whether or not ISIS is really “Islamic” or they’re just “hijacking” Islam for other ends is irrelevant from a political perspective. It’s their actions, not their beliefs, that really matter, and that’s what needs to be addressed.
Now, that does mean, from a political sense, that it is prudent to say things like “we aren’t at war with Islam, but rather against group X because of actions Y and Z” if for no other reason than to contain the focus of your activities to the matter at hand and not invite the opportunity to be drawn into a wide-ranging, multi-front conflict. You also want to place pressure on those organizations that would normally align with your target into allowing the target to be isolated. So, there’s value there.
But playing armchair theologian is dumb. Telling people that you know their beliefs better than they do is condescending and counter-productive. Especially when it’s an obvious like like “The Islamic State is not Islamic” (or, in Obama’s case, “my fellow Americans”).
A much better statement would be something like, “when we oppose the group that calls itself the ‘Islamic State’, it is just that: opposition to a group. It is not a conflict with an entire religion, and we call on those who believe Islam to be a peaceful and tolerant religion to stand with us and deny any aid or support to these murderous thugs.” It’s politic and allows self-styled “moderate” Muslims to save face by giving them the “peaceful and tolerant” hook as an excuse to distance themselves from IS.

(and bammy, don't think we haven't noticed you call them ISIL, giving them greater domain than the ISIS moniker) As I was saying bammy - they sure think they represent Islam. Apparently a whole lot of other Muslims not directly participating in ISIS' barbarism nevertheless seem to think ISIS represent Islam and are doing allah's work...
So here's the cold hard truth bammy, and I know this is going to come as a shock, the world does not in fact revolve around you. It doesn't matter what you think, believe, or lie about. The ISIS Muslim barbarians are going to go right on killing. Islam has made it pretty clear over the last 13 years. The only way to stop the killing is to kill them first. Sad? Yes. Brutal? Yes. But all those idiotic "Coexist" bumper stickers you see? Fantasy. Islam has demonstrated plainly, loudly, and bloodily that there is no coexistence with it.
Personally I will never trust a Muslim. Ever. There is absolutely nothing they could do or say, individually or as a group, to ever regain my trust. That's what 9/11 and 13 years of blood have taught me.
