Dem Congressman: ‘Forces That Will Rise If ISIS Is Destroyed Are Nearly as Evil as ISIS’

CNSNews.com) - Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Ca.), a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, warned Tuesday that destroying ISIS would only empower those fighting against the terrorist group – who are almost as evil as ISIS.

“If you destroy one power in the Middle East, you empower the other side, and the four groups that are fighting ISIS now are in many ways nearly as evil as ISIS itself, and in fact, those who are fighting against ISIS today on the ground have killed far more Americans than ISIS has,” said Sherman, top Democrat on the Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade Subcommittee.

Sherman should learn something from Sicilian culture. If an organization beheads two of your people and brags it will destroy you, you don’t worry about much except the thorough, brutal and complete liquidation of that particular organization. I agree with your unsureness. That's why I like his idea of a full debate. This is not just about destroying ISIS, a fact a full debate might bring out. Then it could become possible to show how ISIS and Iran are two sides of the same evil coin, just as Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan were, and deserving of the same treatment we gave those evil entities. As it stands now, there's an uncomfortably substantial likelihood that the Mahdi will back us into becoming Iran's de facto air force and implicitly approving Iran's nuclear program, meaning we'll go from the frying pan into the fire.

It seems that Christians had it better under some of the dictators we’ve helped to overthrow.

That is correct, particularly for Syria. I've heard the same from Iraqi Christians about Saddam, as hard as that is for Americans to believe.

I'm afraid we've been operating our Middle East policy under the erroneous premise that it is always better to get rid of a brutal dictator and allow freedom and democracy to flourish. The problem is there aren't enough rational people in the Middle East to sustain a democratic republic. In short, thanks to Islam, it's full of crazy people.
