Well your comment at least lets me know that you don’t know all that much. Southern Democrats stopped a lot of what FDR tried to do and at times forced him to reverse course. They may have been in his party but they weren’t his allies.
You could cure the blind spot in your own knowledge of American political history by reading Thomas Fleming’s excellent book ‘The New Dealers’ War: FDR And The War Within World War II’.
