Media Desperately Spinning Bad Jobs Report

Shockingly enough the numbers are bad and performing below the usual optimistic expectations. Just like every other time.

I’ll just give you the headlines for a taste of how frantically the media is spinning the bad news.

A Disappointing Jobs Report May Mask Economy’s Strength – NPR

Jobs Report: Not Good, but Not Terrible Either – New York Times

Don’t freak out about bad jobs report – Washington Post

Why weak August jobs report probably a fluke – MarketWatch

The Awful New Jobs Report Has One Silver Lining – New Republic

It’s a fluke! There’s a silver lining! The bad news is really good news! It’s not good… but it’s not terrible.

U.S. job growth slowed to its lowest level of the year in August, a stumble for labor markets that had delivered a string of steady gains over the prior six months despite uneven economic growth.

Friday’s report could take some pressure off the Federal Reserve, which has been looking for such evidence that excess slack is being whittled away amid a debate over when it might need to increase interest rates.

It’s safe to say the interest rates won’t go up until Yellen is dragged out of there in handcuffs.

After a series of positive economic reports in recent weeks, the Labor Department said Friday that hiring in August sank to its slowest pace since December, with employers adding 142,000 jobs last month.

The vast majority of economists had been looking for a gain of at least 200,000 in payrolls, coming off healthy indicators for durable goods orders, construction activity and manufacturing in July and August.

The unemployment rate did fall by 0.1 percentage point to 6.1 percent last month, but that was because more people dropped out of the work force rather than found jobs.

When everyone leaves the economy, unemployment will finally go down all the way.

Sigh. The state run media are absolutely determined to become as much a laughingstock in the US as TASS was in the old USSR.

Back in the '80s, they spun every good jobs report.

Well, NBC News last night, much to my surprise, attributed the drop in the unemployment rate to people having given up looking for work.

That’s because they went looking for the people that kept bashing holes their boats as the tide rose.

Unemployment rate goes down (yeah, right, you betcha) but number of food stamp recipients goes up.

More marvelous monkey math.

At some point in the next few months the mainstream media will switch gears and blame the president and the Republican controlled congress equally for the country’s economic downfall and promote Hillary as the one who can unify the country, left and right. They need to distance Hillary from the president but they’ll attribute blame to both parties so that it doesn’t do harm to the Democrats and Hillary’s presidential hopes in ‘16.

Listening to Howie Carr the other day, he said the Boston Glob was attributing the poor numbers to the internecine family battle of Market Basket, a small regional supermarket chain employing all of 25,000 across three NE states.

A CBS radio commentary yesterday gave a total of more than one million jobs created recently and with that accomplished the next typical step of economic recovery is wage increases.

Monty Python Flying Circus no longer makes movies and all we have are the aged 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radical, psycho spoiled brat kids and their ideological litters in the Obama Administration and the MSM.

We will eventually have nobody working and a 0 unemployment rate.

What would be the unemployment rate in the Great Depression if they used today's method of calculating the rate? 3%? :)

I am guessing others in the news media are going to lose their jobs as those below are. But they still will lie about how great everything is.

To be fair & accurate to the tone of the OP, that gif should have the Cockateil/Parrot/whatever tossing the dog 'cow chips' and telling the dog,

"Here doggie, doggie: Biscuit Treats! YumYum! Come & get 'em. Have some more!!! EeeKaw!"...

Of course, my POV what's served up with the jobs report 'reporting':

MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Why don’t they just lie to us some more and tell us that everything is rosy, and that it will be raining Skittles tomorrow?
