The entire article is the viewpoint of the slime lawyer that is suing the cops.
I’ll just take that with a grain of salt.
.
“
I don’t live in a geriatric center with an ambulance downstairs and medical people on staff....”
—
I do——it’s absolutely delightful.
.
I have had to call 911 two times and both times I was put on hold for well over five minutes.
Trust has broken down and the authorities view us as garbage:
DO NOT call 911, the system is a joke.
Just help yourself.
“Yeah all those gunshot and stabbies really need to take responsibility for their injuries. Not to mention those trouble making women who get raped.”
If you wish to equate gang bangers getting shot with women getting raped that’s your moral equivalency.

Always rely on yourself first.
They can fill out reports and draw chalk lines later.

Probably because they're kids. Which is why we don't want kids having adult privileges.
TWENTY MINUTES. It’s took them TWENTY MINUTES to call for help for that kid.
No, they need something called "reasonable suspicion." But don't let facts get in the way of your rant after hearing one side of the story from a news source.
Ummm .... a cop with brains.
What do you mean, cops and many other people have transported their own critically injured to the hospital. When literally minutes count you can call ahead as your driving to ER and they’ll generally be ready and waiting...Otherwise you can stand and wait hoping paramedics are dispatched, arrive and transport to ER in time....
If one of mine are very serious or critical and within a few minutes or so drive to an ER, I’m not hanging around waiting for anyone.
Maybe they thought the fastest way to get help was to drive him to the hospital themselves. I have seen far too many cops that had too much attitude and made sure that EVERYONE knew THEY were in charge and THEY would control everyone and everything regardless of the situation.
Oh no I was agreeing with you. It’s obviously the kids fault he was shot.
Really
Until you have walked in the shoes of one who has been shot, save your advice...
I have been, accidentally self inflicted by a .44 magnum (Dirty Harry’s favorite) in a back pasture.
It would have taken 911 responders an hour just to locate me even though we are less than 10 minutes from the paramedic dispatch point and 20 minutes from the major trauma hospital ER.
We were lucky, it was the opening Sunday of football season and IH-35 was empty, as was the ER.. My grandson was on the phone with 911 advising them we were hauling a** (going very fast) to Scott & White. From the time the accident happened until we were in the ER was less than thirty minutes.
I was the entertainment for the ER staff since the ER free loaders were home watching TV on their big screens. The ER Doctor in Charge was a personal friend... Another story but a good time was had by all...
As an aside, I was not in a life threatening situation other than loss of blood which we had under control. It was a leg and foot flesh wound with no bones or tendons broke. I was lucky.
Post 14 presents a contrary view.
Please MetMom, don’t throw cold water on the “cops are idiots” mantra. That’s so mean! /s
same here... when my gallbladder went out it was snowing bad and my wife helped me out to her 4x4 and drove me to the hospital.. they started chewing my ass for driving in over taking the ambulance...
I likely would not have died waiting for them, but out here in the sticks the fastest way to the ER is in your own car.
