Of course we did. Ya better check the history of the involvement. The US Navy operations would be a good start.
Soon, I see the Kurds, Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia allied against Iran and the US. amazing what one fascist Democrat administration can do to policy.
Obama: "Electric football. That's it. That's my strategy!"
So why does Iran keep funding Hamas, a division of the MB?
The Axis of Evil is now Allies of Evil.
There are no ‘good’ choices in the Middle East.
A alliance with Iran now against ISIS is the best thing.
No it isn’t. It will lead to Iran taking over Iraq, and Iran becoming more powerful in the region.
We can’t beat IS without Iran’s help?
I would rather have to deal with Iran than with a totally out of control group like ISIS.
We should have left Hussein in there. The Israelis/Saudis will counter any Iranian threat.
No, you would not rather deal with Iran. As much as ISIS is being hyped right now (not discounting how evil they are), Iran is the true apocalyptic power here.
PS. The Saudis are not allies with Israel. Saudi Arabia would turn into another Iran at the drop of a hat, with all their Wahhabis and all.
When it comes to Islam there is NO correct side. It all needs to be eliminated.
ALL the IS’s are warriors for Islam. The only reason they put on the public face of being upset over the videos showing them sawing people heads off, is the same reason Nazis didn’t want the world to see Jews being shoved into the ovens.
because hamas is not trying to take over Iran, only destroy Israel, which Iran agrees with
The only reason Iran is ‘helping’ the US (in this case) is because they do not want to become part of the caliphate
Iran's there to help themselves. I'm sure they'll ask us to ease sanctions on them so they can more easily "help us out".
They'll probably also be able to gain all sorts of information about our capabilities while "working" side-by-side with us.
So when they had the election, the Sunnis boycotted, and decided to have a civil war. Bush entered the civil war on the side of the Shia and called it the surge. Gen Petraeus would kill Sunnis and Gen Allen would pass out huge sums of money to Sunni Tribal leaders to get them to change sides. Many of the Sunnis fled to Syria and would later take part in the revolution against Assad the Shia.
Peace signs and daiseys prevailed in Iraq and Bush worked out a deal in which Sunnis would get jobs in the govt and get a cut of the money from the Kurdish oil and the Shia oil.
It worked for a while but Maliki started purging the Sunnis, and cut off some of the oil money. After the Kurds built the pipeline thru Turkey, the Sunnis knew they had to do something, so they decided to hook up with ISIS.
Then Obama decided to force out Maliki and get someone who was willing to make a deal with the Sunnis, but the new guy is also a Shia so we don't if that will work out.
In the meantime, Obama is going to have to kill some of these Sunnis, and Iran says they'll be glad to help.
That's about as coherent as it can get which is not to say that it is crystal clear.
How dare you inject clarity, objectivity, and facts!
