I did not wake up each day expecting a new crisis or loudmouth comments from either Bush. I don’t recall them inserting themselves into community business (beer summit, Ferguson, etc.) or having wives who were able to “legislate” food away from kid lunches. I did not agree with many of their actions, but I did not feel sick every time there was a news bulletin, wondering what new level of genuine mess they had created by ineptitude. And I feel that they did not insult our country by making apology tours, and refusing to put hand over heart during the Star Spangled Banner. The reaction of our servicemen and women to GWB compared to their visit from BO was night and day. Just saying I think we are worse off now overall.

Weasels like David Gergen are still floating around DC as "respected". But he is a hack. Howard Phillips was pretty obscure, and probably didn't have Gergen's $$$. But, he kept his soul.

You are not registered as republican or democrat. There is simply a notation as to what primary you voted in or that election cycle — and that is done so you can’t vote in any other party’s primaries. That is all. You are not a registered party member no matter what primary you voted in.

One is registered for a two-year period in the party whose primary he voted in during each even year. If he skipped the primaries, he is “unaffiliated” by law.

If it makes you feel better, have at it, but the fact stands there is no party registration in Texas, Texas does not do political party registration.

Party registration is a fait accompli when one votes in a primary every even year in TX. Same rule in AR, GA, MS, and other states too
