The man who could upend the midterms
Politico ^ | 9/4/14 | Kyle Cheney

Greg Orman could upend the battle for the Senate and Kansas politics at once. But until Wednesday, few had heard of the businessman running for Senate as an independent — or regarded him as anything more than a potential spoiler in a close race.

If Orman, 45, is able to unseat veteran Republican Sen. Pat Roberts — as at least one poll has indicated he could after Wednesday’s withdrawal by Democratic nominee Chad Taylor, provided the contest remains a two-man race — he could be a decisive vote for whichever party ends up controlling the Senate.

Here are a few facts about the candidate, his philosophy and his suddenly pivotal campaign:

I don’t really care who is at fault here. The real issue is that the GOP everywhere has no fire in its belly and once again they are on track to screwing up another major election.

Probably because that part of the GOP with fire in its belly keeps getting slapped down by the establishment part of the GOP, which lost its fire long ago.

If they allow the Dim to withdraw, which so far is not the case, then they HAVE to pick someone to take his place.

In the first place, Taylor has withdrawn. He submitted the paperwork about 45 minutes before the deadline. In the second place, why do they have to pick a replacement?

Another article today: he gave an invalid reason to withdraw, so they put him back on the ballot. If he is allowed to withdraw, the party is required to replace him because this is after the primary.

Kobach: Democrat Chad Taylor’s name will remain on ballot for U.S. Senate.

LOL

Typical RAT cheap trick. Usually they run an “independent” candidate to siphon off GOP votes. This time their Official RAT candidate was such a loser they had to dump him and put all their chips on their spoiler candidate. Naturally the leftist media is hailing this as a “brilliant” move. And they have something to draw attention away from their commie Governor candidate, who used a sex offender in one of his commercials.

Orman was a RAT Trojan horse all along, but the RATS actual candidate was so bad they had to pull him out and throw all their support to their spoiler.

And thousands of RAT voters are so stupid they won’t know the difference and vote for him.

Another reason the RATS hate Kobach sooooo much.

why do they have to pick a replacement?

It's a silly little thing called State Law. Withdrawal is covered by one statute, replacement is covered by another. Many states have similar laws designed to prevent some of the gamesmanship that we are seeing on parade in this race.

You are correct, Taylor has withdrawn, but because he failed to comply with the requirements of the law before the deadline for withdrawal, his name will remain on the ballot and most of Wyandotte County will vote for him.

Claire McCaskill may have played a part in arranging the switcheroo when they realized that Taylor was a loser, although I still believe that was the plan from the get go. But, notice how that McCaskill name keeps coming up. When the Democrats decide that someone needs to get out of the race, they get out of the race. If Taylor hadn’t done that he would have ended up at the bottom of the Republican River.

Let’s go Royals
