I don’t see a problem - it’s a pretty big canyon.

I can’t wait to see the headline, “Could this be the end of the BBC?”

Oh well, I can dream, can’t I?

Prospects for this new construction have officials from the US Park Service worried that the project - located two miles from the park - may have an adverse impact on the area's scenic vistas.' the governments money monopoly.

Fixed.

If done correctly... Why not? The old folks would like it I’d bet.

Under Agenda 21 they want to make it as difficult as possible for people to go out into nature, not easier.

After what the park service did to monuments and parks during that budget thing, I have no respect for anything they have to say.

Years ago, my grandparents took a lot of roadtrips from NC. One was to the grand canyon. It was almost right out of national lampoon vacation. They drove there, got out of the car, looked for a few minutes and drove back home.

I love this kind of stuff. Those parks belong to US, so if Private Industry wants to improve upon them and make a little cash while doing so, so be it! We certainly do NOT have the $$$ to keep our parks pristine, anymore. $17 Trillion in debt will do that to a country. *SHUDDER*

I cannot WAIT to make a trip out west again to see how the Crazy Horse Monument is coming along. I saw it as a 20 year old, so 30+ years later, seeing it again would be pretty cool.

Don’t post any pictures! I don’t wanna know! :)

I don't know about actual building codes regarding "sovereign" Indian structures, but I do know that they are NOT subject to standard fire codes....we have quite a few Injun casino/hotels in our valley and the local paper did an expose on this subject a few years ago.

A Riverside County fire inspector was quoted as saying he'd shut the whole place down, during a visit with the reporter to one of 'em.

Sometimes Europeans tend to not grasp the immense scale of the USA. They’re getting worked up about adding about a block of services to a place three times the size of London.

About 15 years ago my son and I took a rafting trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. It took about five days and we slept under the stars each night. It was an amazing experience.

It’s a horrible idea and shows that liberal Indian tribes cannot be trusted to protect nature’s wonders.
