TOPEKA More than 70 former Republican lawmakers announced their support for the independent candidate for U.S. Senate over incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts on Wednesday.

Traditional Republicans for Common Sense, which is made up of moderate Republicans who have served in the Kansas Legislature, chose to endorse Greg Orman over Roberts and Democrat Chad Taylor.

“Our members know leadership because they’ve been leadership,” said Jim Yonally, the group’s chairman and a former state representative from Overland Park. “Our members have been there. They’ve been on the frontline. They’ve had to make the tough decisions.”

The group sees Orman as a pragmatist who can broker compromises between the two parties, said Rochelle Chronister, who has previously represented Neodesha in the House and served as chair of the Kansas Republican Party.

The dem bailed.
What we have here is a stealth dem posing as a maybe pub.
Yes, its sleazy. They knew they couldnt get an above board dem in this election, this way maybe they can sneak someone in who will caucus with the dems. After much soul searching as to the proper interests of his constituents of course.

No, there will be two RATS running against one RINO, advantage RINO.

By law the RAT can’t drop out now, if he is off the ballot the RATS have to put another RAT on the ballot.

Fine. They can split the vote with the dem. Those 70 losers have been around for decades. They should be dems but figured out that dems don’t get very far in Kansas. They are basically pro abortion losers. I know a few of them. They only have 70 votes. Every election cycle we’re supposed to be concerned about them. They and their buddies have been against Roberts and Brownbeck from the get go.

Orman is a liberal Democrat who calls himself and Indepdent. Chad Taylor calls himself a Democrat, but everyone else calls him stupid because he is a lawyer who can’t read the state statues.

The Secretary of State has pointed out the two relevant laws that stipulate that a candidate cannot withdraw after the primary with two very narrow excpetions: death, and a statement from the candidate that he will be unable to serve if elected. It will be interesting to see the case law on that one. If Taylor is removed, he must be replaced by the Democrats.

All of this is an over the hill gang conspiracy by liberal Republicans (the FORMER legislators who have been canned by the voters), Democrats, and the Liberal Democrat disguised as an Independent. If elected, Orman will declare that he is a Democrat and he won’t do it beforehand, because he cannot win as a Democrat.

It’s also important to understand what these people have in common. Their agenda is to return the Kansas abortion industry to its place of prominence. In its heyday, it was the major source of money for Democrats and for these liberal Republican has beens. They are pining for the good old days.
