The Polish navy is evaluating the Israeli developed Barak-8 missile for the protection of its new navy ships.
With a top speed of Mach 2 and a maximum operational range of 38nm (70km), the Barak-8 is 4.5m (14.8ft) long and has a diameter of 0.54m. Its wingspan is 0.94m and it weighs 275kg (606lb), including a 60kg payload.
Developed based on an agreement signed in 2007 between India and Israel, it has been selected by the Indian navy.
According to the India media, the initial co-development cost was about $350 million, 50% of which was financed by Israel Aerospace Industries. The Israeli company says the missile is highly maneuverable at target interception range.
The Barak-8 is designed to counter a wide variety of airborne threats, such as anti-ship missiles, aircraft, unmanned air vehicles and supersonic cruise missiles.
India is arming its aircraft carriers and front-line warships with Barak-8s to protect them against strike aircraft and anti-ship missiles. The missile will be fitted to at least 14 Indian warships.
A land-based short-, medium- and long-range version is also available. One new potential market is protecting offshore oil and gas rigs from marine and aerial threats.
IAI and Rafael are offering the Barak-8 with different types of radar systems made by IAI subsidiary Elta Systems.

Poland is the only one around there who has been getting ready to deal with the Russians on the battlefield... and it shows

Let's hope so--there are old scores to be settled.
It doesn't work and you can't fire it. But if you somehow get it off its pad, it will fly wildly to the left.
Every missile will zero in on the closest golf course.
Poland would do well to bring in Israeli trainers and advisers for their military. Can’t go wrong with that tactic.
You push the button and it waits a month to launch.
They named it that because they don't have a strategy for using it yet.
We have a winner!!!!
Post of the day.
LOL!
...Barak as in Lightning

Hmmm.....Barak missile. I wonder if it uses Bull$hit as fuel like our Barack.
“...operational range of 38nm...”
Noting to worry about here. It simply grunts and sits there.
