ignore them. I got the request for the expanded census and I ignored the guy and his communication. Eventually they go away.

The Cesus Bureau also does other periodic censuses in off years that are usually related to more specific information. I received a cenus form earlier this year, then entered the data online. It was a Census of Commerce or some other area of inquiry. Don't remember exactly.
The Census of Business also collects data from some businesses most every year. I've filled out several Census of Manufacturing questionaires over the years.

Seriously they try to tell you they can fine you $1,000 but as far as I know you are only required to say how many people live in your house and your name. That’s what we put on the form and sent back in. You were right. They can just call the NSA. We kicked the census taker out of our driveway in 2010. It took about 45 seconds.

I would say the census was already done, I completed it- it’s done every ten years, so talk to you in 2020 and close the door.

Never get into an argument with a low level bureaucrat. You can’t win, because they only have one path. Say no, close the door, move on.
During the regular census, they only go interview people who did not send in their forms.

For the 2010 Census I only filled out the parts listed in the Constitution. Several weeks later I was outside doing yardwork and a census worker showed up and told me he was at my home to gather the rest of the information.
I told him that I did what was within the Constitution and that the Government would get no more from me. He said that the law required it and I called him a Communist and told him to get off of my property. He did so immediately. It wasted about two minutes of my time. I also had a 45ACP holstered on my belt at the time so I guess he did not want to argue with me.
I never heard any more from those commies.

Justify- that is laughable. IRS sends 1,000 refunds to the same address amounting to a 100,000 in refunds. So ironic....
