President Barack Obama renewed his push for Congress to raise the minimum wage Monday in a buoyant accounting of the economy’s “revving” performance, delivered on behalf of Democrats opening their fall campaigns for the midterm congressional elections.
“America deserves a raise,” he told a union crowd in Milwaukee, vowing to keep a hard sell on Congress in much the way he once courted his wife. “I just wore her down,” he cracked.
Timing his push to Labor Day, the traditional start of the autumn campaign, Obama aggressively drew attention to recent economic gains, setting aside past caution on that subject.
“By almost every measure, the American economy and American workers are better off than when I took office,” he said, rattling off a string of improving economic indicators even while acknowledging not all people are benefiting. “The engines,” he said, “are revving a little louder.” …

You can also look at the numbers of people employed in the United States. Those numbers were flat until a year ago. I suspect they still are.
Our population grows all the time. To keep up, we need an increase of roughly 9.5% over every four years.
Instead we have been getting something like 0.75%.
It’s been a while since I looked at my work-up on this.
Under Bush in eight years, our employment only grew by something like 1%.
We have about 25% or more of our potential workers idle, and that doesn’t even count the people on welfare.

For however it lasted, his lemonade strand would have stringent health and safety standards, would be built using union labor, would have excellent fringe benefits and high entry level wages as well as giving sixty day notice of any intention to go out of business.

A surplus of labor results in lower wages. If Obama really wanted higher wages, he would stop importing over a million LEGAL foreign workers annually.

Brilliant move POTUS. You cannot raise wages while you keep stealing from these same businesses in the form of higher taxes and onerous regulations. Give the community organizer an “F” in Economics 101. Typical for a socialist-Marxist dupe.
