Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. It will cheer her up to have them read to her.
I just thought I’d share, since she’s been in the ICU they’ve given her a mental test every hour, and she’s asked several questions, and one is always, “do you know the name of the current president” her reply is always, “Yes, but I refuse to say his name” So far the nurses have laughed and said, “You pass!” but it is Austin, so you know she’ll make somebody cranky eventually lol!
Tell her there are a lot of people in her corner sending prayers heavenward.

LOL, that’s Mari. I’m sure she’ll ruffle someone’s feathers, in Austin. When you see her, give her ((((HUGS))))
from us. Hubby says she’s always been one with a strong mind, even in high school.
Wonderful ... Wonderful News. Take notes on any grumpy ones not approving of the answer. Thank You for Lord for this wonderful update. Prayers continuing ...
Thank you for keeping us informed about your mother’s condition. I’m so glad she’s improving and has her FReeper spirit. Please tell her we’re praying for her.
They asked that question of my 100+ year old mother the last week of her life, and she was having trouble with it. She’d make me practice saying it with her, over and over. I figured that was just one more cross for me to bear, chanting Bah-rock Whoo-sane O-bah-muh! (She voted for him, and I did not, of course.) May she R.I.P.
Give my regards to your Ma,Please. :)
lol
That is awesome to hear.
That’s one feisty lady, and I *officially* love her! :) I’m glad to hear that she’s on the mend.
My 85 year-old stepfather suffered a broken hip after a fall and he had the same emotional response- very confused and lots of crying. I have since learned that this is not an unusual response to a traumatic injury, especially in the case of an older person.
Prayers for your Mom and for you, pesto. I hope that she continues to heal and that she’s back home quickly.
Would love an update as you can. Prayers continue.
Just bumping this thread and thinking about Basil. I continue to keep her in my prayers. She’s a great lady!
