Losing a job at Dairy Queen is considered a promotion where I come from.

ABQ PD won’t like this competition one bit. Gunning down half the population is their job.

The comments at the link are great. Someone brought up the Wendy’s in Flushing, NY where the employees were all marched off to the basement...no good comes of that. It is likely the employee saved all their lives because the robber didn’t quit with the till take.

BCSO names robbery suspect killed by Dairy Queen worker

By: Elizabeth Reed, KOB.com and Stuart Dyson, KOB Eyewitness News 4

ALBUQUERQUE -- The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department released the identity of the 26-year-old suspect killed during an attempted robbery at a Dairy Queen on Thursday night.

Abran Gallegos was shot multiple times by an employee at the South Valley restaurant, according to BCSO. Gallegos reportedly demanded money from an employee when another worker opened fire on him.

BCSO says Gallegos has an extensive criminal history that includes a 2009 car theft arrest, battery on a peace officer and several probation violation charges.

The Dairy Queen is a longtime neighborhood attraction for families, and was shuttered all day Friday.

Across the road at Lollie's Restaurant, customers talked quietly about the shooting, and Lollie herself said she is deeply worried about her community.

"People are wanting to carry a gun or keeping a gun in their house or their business," she said. "It's sad and scary, but that's the reality. My most concern of everything are the people across the street that went through this."

A man at Lollie's said the community was shaken up after the shooting.

"They're going to have to go through a lot of healing, and I think our whole community is," the man said. "This is not the norm that people assume for our community in the South Valley…it's just not."

Dead perp.

Yo, vato, via con Diablo.

if I ran the news media I would have started writing these articles sarcastically by now.

Albuquerque - Budding rap star robs Dairy Queen through drive up window, then asks for “Mo Money”, but was iced by another employee.

I think the racist element in Al Sharpton wants to know what color was the guy with the gun, and what color was the guy that was shot. This has a LOT to do with JUSTICE.

I think I will bookmark this. When I have trouble sleeping a good bedtime story helps helps me enter a pleasant slumber. It also makes me feel good when I wake up.
