David Cameron faces his biggest by-election defeat yet at the hands of Ukip defector Douglas Carswell in Clacton.

The first poll of the constituency, which handed ex-Tory MP Carswell 53% of the vote in 2010, predicted he would be returned as Ukip's first elected candidate in Westminster with eye-watering support of 64%.

The Conservatives are trailing an enormous 44% behind on 20%, with Labour on 13%.

Survation's poll for the Mail on Sunday newspaper is a disaster for the Tories, who had made clear they planned to fight the seat vigorously following Carswell's shock defection on Thursday.

"Only 13% of Ukip supporters said they were worried by the EU. Six per cent voiced concern about cost-of-living issues, while five per cent were bothered by jobs.

Instead immigration emerged as the dominant problem for Clacton's Ukip supporters, 47% of which identified the issue as their main concern. "

Interesting

Tories = RINOs/CINOs

UKIP = Tea Party

A bit of a simplification, but gives the basic idea.

First step to restoring the west is UK out of the EU and the US out of the UN.

I can dream, can’t I?

Oh, that’s after we evict the imposter in the White Hut.

The US has a veto in the UN, it would be insane for us to leave the UN given that we can veto any action proposed by the UN.

Still trying to figure-out “What the heck is a by-election?”.

Is it similar to a US “special election” to fill a seat prematurely-vacated by resignation or death?

“When will the election take place?”
***************************************************************************

I don’t believe the exact date has been set yet. The British election process differs somewhat from the American and some hoops have to be jumped through before the date is set. Since my understanding of their rules leaves much to be desired, I’m not going to hazard a guess other than an assumption that it will be later this year.

“When will the election take place?”

Next week

Thanks. In articles I’ve read today there is some talk of May 2015 — what happens in May 2015?

How about that UKIP ping list?

Put me on it if still has traction.

I wonder if the recent events with the Jihadists is having an effect on UKIP support?.

I just drove a woman who looked a lot like this one across town....23$ fair...she payed w a social worker voucher...she lives in a “adult foster care”....on the north end of town...I picked her up from an “adult foster care” on the south end...she went there to visit a guy who looked like this one guy ...but older..when I picked her up....they were on 3rd ave...a very busy street...playing like this on the sidewalk in broad day light....She says her job is “victim advocate”.....So we pay for 2 people who cant afford to support themselves to ride taxis....for breeding.....When I worked a wet house security a few yrs ago...I found all these blue pills...in several rooms I was turning them in every shift...with reports.....eventually the director..told me...to stop collecting them because they were viagra...and all these chemically dep...people were had perscriptions for them from their drs.

The EU is very scared of this type of thing. The rise of the “neo right” in Europe is nothing like the TEA party.

We shall see if they actually let anyone from the UKIP take their seat.

Actually it won’t be until early October. Exact date yet to be fixed but it’s like to be either October 7th or (more likely) October 9th. Traditionally by-elections are held on a Thursday.

And the UN HQ out of NYC! It’s simply a nest of snakes that mean to harm us.

Good point. The best move would be to almost entirely defund it. Since the UN is essentially a debating society, let the US kick in maybe $100,000 a year to help keep the lights on.

The UN's humanitarian organizations are by and large corrupt and inefficient. Their duties are better handled by private charities.

Not sure Americans realize how much of a bombshell this truly is. Imagine if a Tea Party actually began to secure seats in Congress and Republicans needed them to pass legislation. Who would be in the driver’s seat?

More UKIP seats mean Tories forced to move rightward. Plus, if Scotland exits the UK, taking all of those rabid libs with them, England moves that much further from the left.
