The contrast between Friday’s press conference in London by British Prime Minister David Cameron and Thursday’s White House remarks by President Obama could not have been starker.
Mr. Cameron delivered a robust assessment of the scale of the Islamist threat to Great Britain and to the free world.
He told journalists assembled at Downing Street that “what we are facing in Iraq now with ISIL (Islamic State) is a greater threat to our security than we have seen before.”
While David Cameron appeared self-assured and determined in his approach, Barack Obama came across as a deer in the headlights, unable to outline a coherent U.S. response to a rapidly growing crisis in the Middle East.
He made it clear that ISIS must not be allowed to establish an Islamist caliphate in Iraq. If they succeeded, “we would be facing a terrorist state on the shores of the Mediterranean and bordering a NATO member.”
In announcing his government’s decision to raise the UK terrorism threat level to “severe,” the PM announced a series of measures to combat the Islamist threat within Britain itself, including tough new measures against British-born, self-styled “jihadists,” hundreds of whom have traveled to Iraq and Syria in recent months to fight with ISIS.
Cameron addressed the Islamist menace head-on, declaring that “the root cause of this threat to our security is clear: it is a poisonous ideology of Islamic extremism that is condemned by all states.”
In contrast, President Obama’s remarks to the White House press corps Thursday were weak-kneed, meandering and confused, sending mixed messages both to America’s enemies and the American people.

In order for it to be a lesson, Cameron has to mean it and back it up.
That little leftist weasel he governs alongside should be forced to address this issue, but NO that weasel will at election time run to some muslim shindig and crow about the multi-cult and with no consequences to him or the left.

Can someone tell me the difference between ISIS and ISIL. Obama calls the the terrorists group ISIL which I believe it stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Levant, whereas ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
Cameron hasn’t done shite. He gives a press conference that he will have another press conference on Monday with a plan. The media rejoices on such actions of a politician.
Any leadership for the west will have to come out of London, Paris or Warsaw. Germany seems to be disinterested in Iraq and is making noises of friendship with Putin.

Until the American socialists are out of office, yes, leadership will have to come from elsewhere (and don’t discount Canada).
Germany I think is very rationally seeing the failure of American leadership (purposefully, but failure none the less), and re-orienting a bit towards Russia. They need Russian energy and the US cannot be trusted to keep a status quo to guarantee it will not be interrupted.

The United Kingdom, has done an excellent job in curbing Islam. Let’s look to them for inspiration. Well done. The gutless wonders are now rejoicing, in the kills to come.
They are one and the same and ISIL is better.
To use ISIL means that you understand that Syria and Iraq are no more, having been effectively partitioned.

A headline like this could cause ‘The One’ to lose control of his bladder.
Stand up to Islamists? Are you Nuts? Stand up to Christians, sure. TEA Party, no problem. Boy Scouts, Police, Vets; these folks are easy. I crush them like bugs. They haven’t got a chance. They have morals.
But those Islamist guys. No way. That would be like taking on Drug Lords or Unions.
I’ll just play the race card, phobia card, diversity card; hell I’ll play the whole deck. But I am not going to put myself on the wrong side of Islamists; especially here at home.
