MILWAUKEE- On Monday, President Barack Obama will attend Laborfest in Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee Area Labor Council said he will deliver remarks at the celebration.
The event begins at 11:00 a.m. with a parade from Zeidler Union Square Park to the Summerfest Grounds via Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee St. and Chicago St.
According to the group, Laborfest celebrates the achievements of Wisconsin’s working men and women and unions.
Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke will not appear publicly with the President, but will meet with him privately at Laborfest.
“It’s clear Mary Burke is attempting to distance herself from an unpopular president who’s lost the public’s trust on everything from the economy to foreign affairs,” Scott Walker's Press Secretary Alleigh Marre said.
Bob Spindell, Republican Party of Wisconsin 4th Congressional District Chairman, echoed those same comments.
Burke didn't meet with the President during his last visit to Wisconsin in January either.
The Labor Council is hoping to hear the President address organized labor and collective bargaining.
The details of the President's visit have not been released.
President Obama attended Laborfest four years ago.

Ah yes. The Labor Day Weekend celebrations and fund raisers for the unions and their politicians. During the twelve years I was a union member, I attended only one union meeting, however I did go to several Labor Day beer busts. Free beer!
