An Islamic State (IS) laptop captured by a "moderate Syrian rebel group" reportedly contains bubonic plague recipes and information on weapons of mass destruction (WMDs).

Foreign Policy reports that Abu Ali, commander of the rebel group, found the laptop in January after his men closed on a building from which Islamic State militants fled.

The laptop "contains a total of 35,347 files in 2,367 folders." These include "documents in French, English, and Arabic" and "videos of Osama bin Laden." There are instructions for jihad and stealing vehicles and for making bombs and disguises.

Plague was bad and painful. It’s a hemorrhagic fever type disease. I got it from a defective batch of vaccine. I shared a quarantine ward with 2 or 3 other GIs who’d received the same vaccine. Early symptoms are massively swollen lymph glands; followed by hemorrhage under the skin (black pools of blood). Treatment was with streptomycin, which took it out in a few days. Of course it took the doctors a week to figure out what we had, before giving us the right meds.

doxycycline

Interesting. That "old school" antibiotic cured me of Acinetobacter Baumannii. An Iraqi war vet apparently brought it back to LA and I managed to get it. Yikes!

OTOH, effectively weaponizing bioweapons DOES take equipment and money, in addition to expertise.

**************************************

Unlike AQ, ISIS has plenty of money from all the banks they’ve overrun and the black market oil they’re selling (about $2 million a day coming in). I’m sure they could buy equipment and expertise if that’s the route they decide to take.

Can Malwarebytes remove that?

http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/story/news/investigations/2014/08/03/doxycycline-lymedisease-antibiotic-petspeople/13554829/

Doxycycline is not listed on the FDA list of medications in short supply, while a tetracycline shortage is described by the agency as “resolved.” Both drugs, however, are listed among shortages reported by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, which monitors drug inventories.

Two doxycycline manufacturers are no longer making the drug, the society’s website states, with Actavis, one current manufacturer, maintaining, “The reason for the shortage is supply and demand.” Actavis did not respond to several requests for comment.

we need to nuke these guys. seriously

It is seriously disturbing that every regular poster on FR knew that ISIS had to be disintegrated as soon as they genocided opponents in and around Mosul and emptied out a bank. They were still in a column then, and could've been disintegrated. How could the ptb not have had a firm grasp on how bad this threat was? The DC crowd was still trying to figure out which Syrian rebels to arm.

And Obama STILL doesn't know what to do? So why is he out fundraising instead of in DC figuring it out?

Nobody in the HOR or US Senate is angry enough. It seems that they're ALL (except may Jeff Sessions) woking out how to use issues that should be confronted ASAP as campaign issues.

disgusted beyond words

Well, I’m certainly relieved to know that King Obongo has a strategy for dealing with these people.

He does, doesn’t he?

Aren’t these “scary” documents the kind of documents one can easily download from hundreds, if not thousands, of websites?

This is a BS story.

... fix all the third world muslim nations with a lil obola.

That should take the wind out of their sails for a while. Those jihadis? All operate within poor hygene/ unsanitary conditions and practices. Most should be an easy target.

Pakistan? Mecca? MEdina? Somalia? Libya? Wherever ISis/ slam lives.

and all you have to do is give away some plane tickets in Guinea! All accommodations/first class/ all you can eat and all you can drink!

This is a BS story.

I tend to agree.
The fact that there is no mention which if any Western powers had access to the contents of that laptop brands it as probably a kid in the basement type story.

Very incompetent.
